I have stayed in Ibis Hotel in other cities earlier, and knew that generally rooms are of smaller size and it doesn't offer some standard services like other hotels. Still, I was dissapointed with Ibis Mumbai airport:

Good things:
1. Good location, 10 minutes walk from T1
2. Neat & clean room

Bad things:
1. Check in and Check out takes lot of time
2. Food taste (room service) is below average
3. Need to call reception for even basic amenities
4. Telephone lines are always disturbed, its a pain to call reception (or any other hotel service) with that kind of noise
5. When I returned at 5 pm, room cleaning was still being done. I left the hotel at 8 am in the morning and basic expectation is that room cleaning should be over before I return at 5 pm

This is the third time I have stayed at the Ibis in Mumbai and always been happy with my stay except on this occasion. I arranged late in the evening from Chennai and ordered a meal that never arrived and had to wait till morning for food. The restaurant did not have much variety as the times before at breakfast and the cleanliness of the restaurant has seriously dropped which was disappointing. The tables were sticky and looked as if they had been wiped down with dirty cloth.

The room was run down with the toilet leaking, bedding not in great shape and the towels were in poor condition and my dogs have better towels with less rips. No replacement shower gel or soap was provided and clothes took today’s to return from the laundry and thought I might have to leave with out them.

As I say I have stayed here before and been satisfied but this time I was not.

Booked at Ibis Mumbai Airport for a couple of nights in Nov 2020. Having stayed at a few other Accor hotels in India and abroad, I gotta say that this is undoubtedly my worst experience so far.
We had booked the room with extra benefits such as Early checkin & late checkout, 2 draught beers per day and 20% off on F&B. We were issued no coupon (which they should for those who book with benefits) and had to explain each time to the operator that we indeed had booked a room with benefits.
We did not get the the 2 draught beers on the first day, when we insisted, they offered us a watered down peg of some cheap vodka instead. The restaurant staff was pretty unprofessional, we had to repeat the order at least twice each time we ordered food. The food menu was pretty limited too and needless to say, the price in no way justified its little quantity.
About the room, Ibis is anyway known for its compact rooms but this one felt like a cheap cabin on a ship with a makeshift toilet. The rooms were not soundproof at all, one could literally hear everything happening in the adjacent and even the opposite rooms!!
There was no toothbrush, no toothpaste, no toiletries. To top it all, they didn’t even provide tea/coffee/milk powder sachets in the room which even a cheap 1-star hotel provides.
All-in-all, it was not a pleasant experience. For their price, you could actually book at Hilton paying a little more premium.
Book here only if all the other airport hotels are booked.

Dear Mr. Bapat, Thank you for taking out the time to post your rating on this platform. As always, it has been our endeavor to create unforgettable memories for valuable guests such as you and it is rather unfortunate we could not meet your expectations this time around. I have spoken to my Food & Beverage manager and Front Office Manager with regard to the issue raised about the availability of the drinks. I really regret that the promised one was not available on first day. The amenities in the room are being provided upon request due to COVID 19 outburst, to minimize the contamination of the supplies placed in room. I understand the situation could have been handled in a more pleasing way. I sincerely apologize for causing you displeasure on this account. Once again, I sincerely appreciate your candid feedback. Regards, Gaurav Chavan General Manager

Let me point them out
1. Checkin delayed from 12pm to 3pm as rooms not ready, also hotel is not sorry for that as if its ok for guests to wait for 3hrs. Checkin desk managers attitude is not correct.
2. Magnetic keycard not working in lift & room. Every day its a struggle to use them. Suggest to change back to key system.
3. Restaurant staff are roaming around chatting with each other without greeting guests or helping with cleaning table. Most of the time there’s used water, no napkins or forks on the table. They are most unprofessional.
4. Room is given a QR code for ordering food which doesn’t work.
5. Toilet door lock doesn’t work.
6. Ordered tea for room service, it was served in disposable paper cups without any cutlery costing Rs250 each.
7. Only room cleaning is normal or else try getting other hotels nearby.

I used to always stay in ibis wherever I travelled. After a long time I travelled to BOM and stayed in this hotel which I found to be convenient and efficient. However this time I came to stay after a gap of almost 3 years and I had the worst experience of my life.

I was famished and I placed an order for food on their in-room Restaurent service (room service) by scanning on the QR code. I waited for 30 minutes and I felt that there’s something wrong as the order did not reach me. So I called the reception. A man picked up and hurriedly told me that he will check from the kitchen if the order was received or not and then he will call back.

I waited for about 30 minutes and since no call was received by me, I called the reception. No one answered the phone. I keep the bell ringing for almost 2 minutes before I hung up and dial led again. I did his three times and finally at the fourth attempt (after almost a gap another 15 minutes) this lady answered my phone and told me that they are experiencing heavy rush and that their order system is not working fine.

I honestly don’t know how I was supposed to know hat their system is working fine (I also think hat it was some BS they were feeding me to cover up their incompetence). She then offered to connect me to the kitchen and then find out for myself what is going on. I was dying of hunger by then. I didn’t give a damn and I wanted my food delivered at the earliest.

I spoke to the kitchen and she was extremely unapologetic and apathetic to the inconvenience hey put me through and she confirmed the order hey had. When I asked when will it reach me, she said that it will take about 40 more minutes. When I protested that it is almost an hour since I placed the order and she is saying without even sounding apologetic, what kind of a sham of a hospitality are they running? The to satisfy me, she laughingly said I am sorry.

I was furious by then and I told her that you all are so incompetent and I feel sorry for you to have been in a profession that is not of their choice. They should have been in some profession where they do not have to engage their hearts and work like automatons.

By then I joined my work related conference call. They made several calls to me on the house phone and also on my mobile I did not take those calls.,..

I finally placed order on Zia to to satisfy my hunger. It is already over 150 minutes since I first started feeling hungry. I think I won the endurance test. But lost the battle in maintaining my composure.

I will never stay in this place which is full of heartless automatons who call themselves humans to provide service that requires a great amount of heart element.

If you want to experience the humanoid experience or heartless and inhospitable service, please stay here.

Dear Mr. Sanjay, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Ibis Mumbai Airport. My team and I are truly very sorry for the inconvenience you faced and the issues that you observed while ordering your meal. Due to the low connectivity in the interface the order did not flow in our system, which indeed took a while for us to acknowledge, however I must assure you that all your comments have been personally addressed by me with the related teams and we are certain that your future experiences with us will be vastly improved. I am personally very disappointed and embarrassed that we were unable to provide the quality standards that you rightfully expected from our hotel. Pathetic stay every time, it is just because our company type -up with this property, every time we have to wait for 30-40 min to get a room, the staff behavior is so rude, especially the front desk staff.
In the room you will not get any amenities not even a packed water bottle, they provide a glass bottle with regular water which stinks.

They don't even provide toothpaste you will get tablets first you chew that then it creates foam then brush. Tablets are disgusting.
For laundry bags, you have to call and have to wait for 15-30 min.
I do understand operational challenges but the staff's behavior is so rude to us.

Room charges for the size of the room and with 3 star rating are too high. Just for the location and no proper service (like bellboy service) the charges are on the higher side. Even the breakfast wasn't of the quality as compared to the room charges. You can get the same price for a 5 star hotel as well. Restaurant was the worst of the worst, the tea we ordered for 199 was worse than the tea you get for 10 at a railway station, and on top of that we were charged with service tax without asking us beforehand. When we complained about it they refused to return the service tax. For dinner, we ate at the same restaurant, and we had to wait 50 mins for our first order to arrive, which was Tomato soup, the soup was served with a huge garlic bread and no side plates were given. Also you cannot share the soup b/w 2 persons. Again the charges were on a higher side. We had to complain to the manager just to get our food prepared and served to us. My parents had a flight in the night and they arrived late at the airport due to this mishap. Overall experience with ibis was the worst, I would never recommend anyone to stay at your hotels.

Easiest is the Uber or Ola ( Indian cab service) at the airport terminal. You would not have to hassle through local cabbies bargaining. No shuttle available, unless the hotel provides one( i dont know about this). Thanks
