Experience a signature blend of old school luxury and contemporary elegance at the Taj Mahal Tower, a 5-star deluxe hotel, soars above the Mumbai harbour, looking out at the dramatic panorama of the Arabian Sea and the historic Gateway of India. Designed by American architect Melton Bekker, this luxury hotel opened its door to guests in 1973, instantly carving an identity into the cityscape. Bekker incorporated Indian design elements like Tanjore pillars from the south and arched balconies from 14th century imperial Rajasthan into the distinctive tower which is crowned with a jagged diadem. Four decades since, our hotel in Colaba continues to dazzle patrons with luxurious suites, iconic restaurants and sublime views of the city’s famed seafront. As a guest at the Taj Mahal Tower, you’re privy to world-class sophistication and impeccable service underscored by Mumbai’s warmth and vigour.

The Taj Mahal Tower in Mumbai garners consistent accolades for its spotless premises and luxurious amenities, with guests often lauding the hotel's cleanliness and attentive service. Its prime location and picturesque Arabian Sea vistas are popular highlights for many travelers. While the atmosphere is celebrated for enhancing special occasions, the value proposition is sometimes questioned due to the steep prices of food and beverages. Guest opinions on the rooms are mixed; they are praised for being clean and well-serviced but critiqued for noise and size issues.

I stayed mainly in the Taj Palace whilst in Colaba, but had a one night stay here for comparison... and preferred it. This was due to my wonderful Apollo Sea View Room - a lovely, spacious room, with a huge, comfy bed, alongside all the other provisions you'd hope for in a lux hotel. The real highlight though, was the magnificent view over the sea and Gateway of India. These rooms enjoy large windows onto an arch framed balcony, and the outlook is simply stunning. My Taj Club City Room in the Palace wasn't blessed with such sizeable windows, so I didn't get the same enjoyment from the room. Staff across both hotels are outstanding - expect gracious, polished service from everyone one you meet. The hotel is immaculate, an extremely well run operation - everything just works. Wifi is excellent, the reception team are prompt in pre-stay communications, and service in the restaurants is impeccable. There are 8 or so eateries in-house, 2 exclusive to residents. Aquarius, for all day poolside dining, and Loya, a newly opened North Indian Restaurant. Food was particularly superb in the latter. The other restaurant I tried was Wasabi by Morimoto, sadly very underwhelming. I opted for the Taj Club package in both hotels as it offered various worthwhile perks including a one way airport transfer, 20% off restaurants excluding Wasabi, and use of the elegant Club Lounge. This is a beautiful room, which you can use for breakfast, drinks, high tea, even a full meal, and service is top notch. Security is taken seriously at the Taj, with airport style scanner checks upon entry. The 2008 terrorist attack remains a tragic scar, and is tastefully marked by a simple, cascading waterfall memorial. The communal parts of the hotel are sumptuous, and the lobby buzzes with guests and visitors alike, the latter to shop in the high end boutiques, dine in the restaurants or just revel in the majesty of this legendary landmark building. The hotel offers a complimentary heritage tour which takes around 45 minutes and is well worth doing for a glimpse into its further reaches and a lesson in its history. A short corridor links the Tower lobby to the Palace and Tower guests have free rein over all Palace facilities, the only exception being that Palace residents can take breakfast in Sea Lounge, whereas Tower guests have it at Shamiana. If you have taken the Taj Club package, you can alternatively breakfast in the more intimate and refined atmosphere of the Taj Club Lounge. Sea Lounge can be accessed at other times, indeed it is open to non-residents following breakfast service, with High Tea particularly popular. There are myriad restauants within close proximity and I was particularly impressed with 'The Table' and 'Americano'.
Ubers are cheap and readily available.
The Tower is an excellent choice, if I was to return to Mumbai, I would choose to stay here.

One doesn't need a mirror to c de beauty of TajMahal Hotel n its precious STAFF MEMBERS - GEMS responsible to make my staycation a memorable experience.

SHAMIANA: Every single person and I mean every SINGLE PERSON FROM SHAMIANA makes me feel at home with everything n anything possible to make me comfortable. It’s such a delight to visit Shamiana. The list is very long-
Let’s begin with Chef Rahul Patil humble polite and will go out of his way to make de guest have a pleasurable experience with their taste buds.
Niham Malhotra Outstanding guy. Tushar,Tanisq,Harsh All 3 of them go out of deir way, take an extra effort to make me comfortable in the restaurant.Always asking de guest if they could get something more to de table to add dat extra dose of taste making your meal more relishing.

The people at Taj pamper u so much n see to it dat u stay like a prince in their property by giving u everything .Each and every name of de person mentioned above, maybe I have missed out on few names are TRUE GEMS which make me addictive to this Hotel. These Gems put in an extra effort to make each n every guest happy n leave de Hotel with a smile on his face n a desire to visit the property again.I think each n every person mentioned above seriously needs BIG BIG BROWNIE POINTS for deir hard work n sincerity towards deir work.Mind u dis is a perspective from an outsider’s point of view regarding the staff n de management of TajMahal hotel which according to me is the BEST AMONG ANY HOTEL IN INDIA.

It was my 5th marriage anniversary and it was made special by the staff at Taj. Right from the welcome till departure, the staff assured our comfort and convenience. We were traveling with a 3-year old child and staff was quick enough to sense that and helped us through out. The best part about taj is they take care of small things which enhance the experience of the guests. For e.g. when we went for the breakfast, the staff made us feel special by clicking our pic in our phones and while leaving after check-out, we were finding it difficult to find the cab, again the person who carried the luggage helped us find the one and left only after we left for our journey.

I had similar experience two years back with Taj Amritsar that's why I chose Taj Mahal tower for my 5th anniversary and I am glad that I took that decision. Thank you for serving me and my family.

Very friendly staff. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to a “lake view” room class for free; upon departure, we were not charged for the used minibar. Drinking water is brought to your room every day. Very good and varied breakfast. Delicious dinner. Great pool and the opportunity to drink a glass of wine right on the shore.

Unique experience, where dreams come true. First of all the location is unique, right in front of the "gate of India" in the heart of colaba district, full of luxury shops, local handicrafts and pashmina and cashmere items. My superior room (306) had a window that framed the gate of India...an open-air dream. Very clean and elegantly furnished room with large shower, separate toilet area (no bidet), quality and abundant amenities, plenty of bottles of water. The breakfast is unique, in terms of richness, quality, respecting the Indian culinary tradition (you can taste dishes from the various states of India) but obviously there is also an international breakfast. Many products are freshly prepared, to order (all included in the price). Super attentive and courteous dining room staff. Both the Indian restaurant on the ground floor and the Lebanese restaurant on the top floor with a panoramic view of the Gate of India are worth trying. Clean spa full of services, well-equipped gym in the basement, outdoor swimming pool in a stately and elegant setting. Everything is perfect, nothing left to chance. Prices are slightly lower than the Taj Mahal Palace hotel and, at the same time, you can use all the common areas of the renowned Taj Mahal Palace (swimming pool, gym, spa, breakfast room). If you want to have a unique experience you cannot miss staying in this elegant hotel rich in history

Overall great views from 1909 and 1910 - fantastic view/room. Manthan was helpful to share additional information on phone.

Checkin process was slow on actual day - waited at pool - hot and humid. Don’t expect to find a place to sit in their busy lounge during checkin or checkout process.

After spending a week in mumbai stating at Niranta, Lemontree, Leela, Radisson and Taj - service at Taj was anemic compared to all of our stays this week. it felt staffing was not adequate and every member was overworked, and some looked tired and fatigued. We took breakfast option and service was much lacking/overcrowded at 0755 in am.

Checkout process is super slow and painful as well. No E-checkout, u go to reception where first contact asked for a room charge for breakfast which was already paid during booking - it got clarified/resolved by manager. Then u go to pick ur luggage, u have another flag to meet with manager. Finally called Uber and hotel would not let in with all our luggage and Thanks to manager on Duty - He was very helpful and he came out, allowed our ride to come inside gate to get our luggage loaded. we really appreciated that. Thanks much !

Spent a night with family in 2 rooms. Honest opinion - if u want great location and want a sea view room - 1909 and 1910 was awesome ! we loved it ! Thanks Jyoti !

if you want value for your dollar for overall board/service, try to look elsewhere and ur dollar would probably get u much more in mumbai.

The Taj palace & tower hotel paid attention to every detail from the beginning to end. We felt welcomed, luxurious, in a fairy tale and like royalty. We loved every second of the heritage tour you offer. Adil was an excellent guide and his many stories about the Taj palace made it even more magical. The service at the pool restaurant from Sagar was attentive, as well as the pool staff helping us find chairs to relax and enjoy the ambiance of the pool location. The front desk and cleaning staff welcomed us with gifts and treats multiple times, which made us feel noticed and special. We stayed in the tower in the 15th floor with a sea view and it was perfection. Taj Palace and Tower you are truly the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. Thank you for your attentional to detail! Money well spent!!

My partner had booked a surprise stay at the Taj for my birthday. This was our first visit to Mumbai and chose the best stay, and it didn’t disappoint. Since the first step into the lobby for checkin, I was transported into a different world altogether with the amazing decor and flower smells. The welcome Aarti was heartfelt.
The rooms were perfectly decked with everything anyone can ask for and more.
Every member of the staff is so gracious and keen to anticipate your needs. I felt like being taken care of and pampered for everything.
Whenever we went out, we came back to emaculate clean rooms and I really liked my clothes were so neatly folded.
The birthday cakes (the second one was unexpected :)) I got were very delicious and beautiful decorated. The room service was very quick be it clearing the trays or refilling the toiletries. The swimming and jacuzzi was a very relaxing experience.

However the best experience amongst all was the brunches at Rendezvous & Souk. Anselm made the whole brunch experience fantastic. His hospitality made us feel so special and pampered. It felt a very personalised touch to the luxury brunch. Without requesting, he took numerous awesome pictures of us. Talking to him about his past experiences at Taj for 30 years was very interesting and motivating. He got us customised meals made like vadapav, pavbhaji and puri bhaji, he also got a customised happy birthday written pancake for me which was amazing. Chef Aamir had prepared very delicious meals.
The other staff at R&S was also very attentive. They went the extra mile to get me the packaging box from apollo lounge. They really cater to each and every guest need with the utmost excellence.

The stay was the best in luxury and hospitality, where all our wants were met unasked! Really grateful to be a guest of the best heritage hotel!

Absolutely magical. We felt like loyal clients of Taj palace, but it was our first time. Their attention to detail was spectacular and their customer service skills superb. Whether it was in Shamiana or the Harbour bar, we were taken care of very well. The location was perfect. The meals were delicious, fresh and hygienically prepared. We stayed for five days and didn't have any bad experiences at all. The pool was pristine and quiet. The mocktails delicious. The room was cleaned perfectly and prepared every evening. I enjoyed the rosewater spray beside my bed. I enjoyed the refreshing drinks near the lifts too. What a memorable stay. Can't wait to stay at Taj palace again.

The Taj Experience… a term for what Taj offers a guest. When my husband and I booked a room at the Taj Mahal Towers to celebrate an anniversary, we had no idea of what was awaiting us. As we walked in, we had our picture taken, which was framed and given to us. I must mention Mayank who made the check in so seamless. He walked us into the most amazing surprise - we had been upgraded to the Apollo Suite overlooking The Gateway of India. The room was decorated with balloons and there was a cake along with a bottle of wine. I was speechless with wonder. When we returned in the evening, there were silk scarves and chocolates for us. The next day, as we came back after lunch, we found copper vessels with rose petals awaiting us. We dipped our feet in rose scented water and forgot all our tiredness. I must thank Sarel and Rahul too who made this wonderful experience a reality for me.
