The property is beautiful and is centrally located. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well kept. I took most of my meals at the restaurant, and had to take many packed lunches as well. The staff at the restaurant were very thoughtful, attentive and made sure my experience at the hotel was extremely comfortable. I’d definitely go back, if ever I make a trip to Mysore again.
Travelled with family and was allocated a room in the Royal Wing. The balcony over looking the mango trees were the highlight. The room is comfortable, neat and Mysore Royal heritage is displayed in their décor. Breakfast is the standard buffet. The location is great and you can visit most of the tourist locations use local transport. The beds and pillows are too soft and options can be provided. Hand sanitizer was present in other Royal Orchid hotels which is missed here and is handy when present in the room.
I needed a quick get away from blr, 2 hrs by train n metropole located 7 mins from the station seemed apt. The service staff is amazing n ensure that they cater to all of your requests if any, they sure do make u feel special. This heritage hotel was a pleasure to stay @ rather than a more up to date group of hotels that replicate the same rooms in every city. This is different n stands out in its own way.Being centrally located, there are a whole lot of things to do around.... Wouldn't think twice before staying here again!!!
Once the travelling bug catches you ,you start rolling. Here this weekend I am.off again with my family ,travelling by Road to Vaithri resort in God's own Country Kerala's Wyanad hills. Its a nature resort esconsed amidst the rain forest of Western ghats in south India .I shall be staying 3 nights at this and shall present my review separately. Enroute we broke journey at Bangalore on 6th night leaving Chennai by early morning. We had excellent dinner at the pan Asian restuarant on 13th level of Barton court ,Ivory towers hotel where we checked in for the night . We left for Mysore early morning From Bangalore and arrived at Mysore Royal Orchid Metropole a 5 star hotel with adequate parking space . I recently reviewed only their restuarant,The Tiger trials after dining in this excellent restuarant along with my local friend, enroute to Kabini Tiger Reserve forest resort a couple of weeks back . Now that I have checked into this hotel as a transit halt while proceeding to Vaithri in Wyanad I submit my experience in this colonial type of hotel, beautifully maintained with garden, lawn et all in pristine condition . It is learnt that this complex was once a guest house for the white British guests visiting India as part of their govt duty and was in fact excluded for the local populace during the Britush regime ( A sad fact in Indian history though) . The room over look a central green courtyard on all sides with just one floor up and no lift but not difficult to climb . The rooms are so spacious with high ceiling with split Ac unit and has a huge modern bathroom attached . The room.is furnished elegantly with all creature comforts conforming to a 5 star hotel with few pieces of antique furniture carried over from the colonial era. The attached spacious balcony overlooking the garden seldom not found in any hotel, is indeed an USP of this heritage hotel. Its a beautiful.place to sit in the early morning with a hot cup of filter coffee and enjoy the surrounding in peace and tranquility . The week end buffet lunch was so exhaustive in both veg and non veg and the taste of food was absolutely great and amazingly light on the stomach . The Number of desert items presented will satisfy any diner to savour to their hearts content while relishing the rich taste . If the food doesn't satisfy one and all , the kind courtesy and warm hospitality extended by the entire staff of this traditional hertage hotel, right from.the moment one steps into this hotel till they check out will find it unbelievably warming their hearts and I am sure it will launch a million satisfied guests both from within India and abroad . Trust me its a fitting royal place to stay and enjoy a perfect holiday tour of this wonderful and historical city of Mysore . I strongly recommend this hotel to all.my readers in Trip advisor travelling from abroad and from with in India to Mysore City in Karnataka , India for a happy stay . A nostalgic experience awaits any discerning traveller at very reasonable and affordable price for perfect luxury stay and boarding at this Royal orchid Metropole hotel ! …
