Lalitha Mahal impresses you with its grandeur as soon as you enter. A brilliantly crafted elephant greets you as the center piece as soon as you enter. What this hotel lacks in amenities it more than makes up for in character, location, ambience, and service. The staff is so helpful! Even in a heritage property, old fashioned hospitality is hard to come by. But here, one finds a genuine interest in making your stay special. What works The hotel is at a lovely location. You open your eyes and there is greenery. The air is pristine and the view ahead of you is breathtaking every single morning. The corollary is that it can be tough to get public transport to and from this area. The staff is fantastic. They really feel good when a guest has a good time. The heritage suite room on the first floor is large and comfortable. The bathroom in this suite room is large. That is one of the best things about the room type. The wi-fi is fantastic. We must specially mention the FnB manager, Mr. Subbaiah, who was polite and tried to ensure that we had a good experience at the restaurant as soon as he heard about a negative experience. He made things right in a very good way. What doesn't work If you would like to be in the middle of the city, this is not the place for you. The furnishings need repair and refurbishment rather urgently. A little seating chair arrangement in front of the rooms would be nice. We stayed here for 6 days and after the first night, loved every moment of being here. If you don't like the food at the hotel, you will need a private taxi to go eat at another location. They are not walkable.…
Lalitha Mahal is a truly grand hotel - not surprising given that it’s a palace. Grand facade, imposing pillars, long corridors and lots of marble. We had booked the heritage suite but it wasn’t terribly suitable from an accessibility standpoint - with a high walled bath tub. We were upgraded to the executive suite which was very nice - better from accessibility even though it was on the 3rd level. It’s in a more recent part of the building. A private terrace and a balcony overlooking the pool and a view of the Chamundi hills was a nice bonus. Main entryway needs to be made more accessible for those with restricted mobility. There is no ramp or railing and that’s an issue. Staff is attentive and responsive. Dinner and breakfast buffet spreads were elaborate and well made. Mr Subbiah from F&B checked in with dinner guests and made sure everyone was comfortable. Plastic straws are not see but metallic ones should then be made available. Some areas for improvement: Bathrooms need to be better quipped- better/higher quality soap/dental kit etc. needed. Shower area didn’t have a nook to keep soap etc and the shower curtain was poor quality. No laundry bag/alarm clock in the room either. The heritage suite that we ended up not staying in also didn’t have great plumbing/fittings (even allowing for limitations given it’s a really old building). The staff initially asked me not to take pictures with a camera but later relented. Bit illogical given practically everyone else was walking around with a phone and taking pictures. Staff should also guide guests to nearby options for recreation (Karanji lake park for instance). I didn’t get much guidance on where to go for a walk/run etc. Overall - pleasant stay. A bit of work needed to be on par with other 4/5 star options in the area.…
I have given Lalitha Mahal an excellent rating, but please note that this is only for the buffet dinner. The palace is beautiful, unfortunately Jungle Lodges, who manage the property, are failing to unleash it's full potential. There is a clear lack of maintenance, paint is peeling, the plasterwork is crumbling, overall the decor needs serious attention. This could be a gem of a heritage property, but it really needs Taj or Oberoi to take over and transform it into a luxury palace hotel. I came hear for the Buffet dinner, which was excellent and very reasonably priced. Would not stay here though!
Open for public – so expect crowd during the evening. Most of the people do now ware mask and no social distancing followed. The hotel staffs are not demanding for visitors and people staying Food is good but cost on higher side Breakfast very limited spread and do not get any other food on demand Place is good - rooms are medium size [just ok for 3 adults] Outdoor AC unit is fixed in the sit-out of the room and is very noisy
I stayed for a night at this place on 27th October 2021. Stay was comfortable with very good ambience. Being a royal structure it has panoramic views. Breakfast was free and okay. Still they can improve the taste that too in Mysore. From here you can reach all major attractions in Mysore. It's value for my money as I booked through Agoda. Please check for discounts during mid week. Weekend rates are mostly high.
I had booked 2 rooms for my family for a stay from oct 3 to oct 4 in lalitha mahal palace hotel. I had some issues with related to our stay. First and foremost is the AC in the room, which us extremely noisy and it was very disturbing for us to sleep. Also cold water tap was broken so only hot water was coming in the bathroom. We complained abt it but nothing was done to fix it. Food was good but items very less and live counters were started late aftet we had finished our breakfast. Service was not upto the mark as well. We also tried the lunch buffet there at the hotel restaurant, It was RS 800 per person and not worth for the price. Less items compared to the price charged. Also the house keeping staffs were expecting tips and they wont move from the place unless we give any. It was like a typical govt hotel mentality. Our stay wasnt that good nor memorable.…
Nice and great hotel. Took suite room.. Excellent. Palace needs a painting immediately. Staffs are excellent. Good good quality and quantity. Super friendly rates. What not. Every thing good.. Must visit place everytime
Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel by Jungle Lodges is one of the decent palace hotels with very basic amenities even though it’s capable of a great 4 star category hotel. Outlook of the property is extraordinary and the maintenance sucks. They should have given this hotel to some chain like IHCL group. Rooms are spacious with top class beds with other decent 3 star facilities. The Staff are good. They said that the bar will open till 08:35 PM. When I tried to get in around 5 PM, they were opening the bar and I decided to come back around 06:00 PM. When I came back again, the bar was open without the bartender :), so I dropped the idea of drinking :) I ordered Fish Tikka which was served with an extra dose of salt. Buffet breakfast was good with terrible coffee. Overall, if you want to experience Palace Hotel if you have not stayed anywhere else. This is the place to go. The architecture doesn't disappoint you.…
Had a very pleasant stay. Unlike regular hotels, it airy and spacious. Ideal place, if you prefer to go for walks. Beautiful view from the location. Courteous staff. Very good food. Overall, a great place.
I had gifted my parents stay at Lalith mahal palace as anniversary gift. The booking was hassle free and the staffs were really courteous and kind enough to address all my needs. I would like to specially thank Mr.Suhas for making all the arrangements, I had planned a surprise cake for my parents and Mr. Suhas ensured that it was delivered promptly and made relevant arrangements. Kudos to his hospitality. I would definitely recommend a stay at Lalith mahal and enjoy the pleasant stay.
