The checkin was very fast, the room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was also spacious and the bed was comfortable.
There were a number of plug points and WiFi was super fast.
The housekeeping was very good and all the staff were polite and helpful. The minor complaints made by me were attended promptly and effectively.
Rajesh and Allan at the reception deserve special mention.
There are 2 very good vegetarian restaurants Mahesh Prasad and Ramya Mahendra within 1 km radius which serves fantastic food with the local flavour. There is a Big Bazaar within 750 metres which as usual has practically everything you need.
The hotels own restaurant Saffron had very good food with great quality and taste and breakfast was excellent.
Don’t miss the Palace and the Zoo which can be reached by auto for about Rs 70. You can book OLA cabs and autos which are available easily Nd are very economical.
Right near the palace there is a hotel RRR which has wonderful Biryani.
The slight negatives are that the bar on the 4th floor tends to get a bit noisy at night during the weekends, especially if you have a room on the 3rd floor and the TV had a very few number of channels to watch and there are no fans in the rooms, only AC.
But barring these minor flaws, this is really a very good place to stay in Mysore and I have no hesitation in recommending Jade Garden to everyone planning a trip to Mysore.
However, the rooms aren't that great. While the rooms are clean, they don't have a ceiling fan. The air conditioning is rickety and old, with broken remotes, and is the only mode of air circulation. The rooms smell stale when you enter, and smell a little of smoke. Again this is because of poor air circulation. There is no view at all, as most of the rooms face the adjacent building wall. The bathrooms are small.
Location of the hotel is excellent.
The food served is of good quality and room service is prompt. The breakfast served is decent might consider a little more variety. A good place for a short stay in Mysore.
My second visit was disaster, for following reason.
1) One of room allocated was not refreshed properly. We couldn't bear the heavy smoke trail left by last occupant. Inspite of this complaint to House keeping and reception the response was lucid. Its a clear oversight by house keeping folks and callous attitude of reception is unexpected.
2) Please don't ever take room #301, #302,#303, #304. There is a restaurant operated on above these rooms. So there is a hell lot of disturbance from 10 PM to Midnight in name of cleaning. We do understand the business run by the folks, but given the horrible roofing/infrastruture with no sound dampening, they should plan all those cleaning activities in real quick time and not extended for hours into mid night
For the proximity of hotel and food i had preferred this hotel for second time but unfortunately it turned out to be a nightmare. Though i had reported these issues, looks like its not taken seriously.
