After looking thru all resorts at Kabini we decided to stay at JLR and we were not disappointed. The maharaja cottage that we stayed in was large , had a sit out , river facing and very serene . The morning and evening safaris are a part of the package …(quite convenient to step out of room and they were very punctual ). The boat safari was also good. The staff is helpful. It’s not a super luxury stay ( one would assume with the high charges , maybe coz it was 15th aug weekend ) but a neat n clean , Eco friendly place with good amenities n best staff / vehicles for safari. Meals are served as buffet at Golghar ( a central restaurant) and the variety / quality is ok. Their ayurveda massage centre was also ok and I had a good experience. So all in all, If your plan is to just chill at Kabini and enjoy luxury with fancy meals , then opt for other resorts but if you want decent accommodation, excellent safari and experience, then this place is highly recommended

We had booked the Maharaja package and our experience was not that pleasant. Positives - 1. The cottage was BIG - with a wide sit-out space 2. The property is huge and they have a battery cart to ferry guests between the room and the reception 3. Property is dotted with lot of trees, esp. Mango - it was a beautiful sight. There were also a lot of hammocks provided at many spots inside the property 4. The swimming pool was well maintained 5. Food was good - the buffet had a decent spread 6. Staff - this is the BIGGEST plus of this place. We were well attended to - right from check-in till we checked out 7. Though the jungle (jeep) safari - that comes with the package - is mentioned to be a 3 hour one, the staff took an additional 45 mins to try to sight a big cat (we couldn't spot one, though another jeep in our group did manage to spot a panther). The staff were knowledgeable about the birds and animals that we did manage to spot. Cons - 1. The rooms needs renovation - there are huge cracks running across the walls and the main door was rickety. It rained in the night and there was a big gap in the door due to which lot of bugs/insects entered the room. Hope the management fixes this ASAP 2. Though the itinerary mentioned a bon-fire, it was cancelled after a light drizzle (of 5 mins). They could have waited for the rain to abate 3. The recreation room (underneath the reception/dining area) needs repair

Travelled to JLR Kings Sanctuary in Nagarhole in May 2022 with Family. I booked the maharaja package. The property is huge with lots of trees. continuous peacock calls makes the ambience very pleasant. The staff are very courteous, polite and helpful. Had great interaction with Nipun during our stay. the bathroom, bathtub and bedding were in superb condition. However the bathtub area has open oof and if lights of bathroom ore on in the night insects will infest the bathtub. Safari was just great with Anil. The rooms are spacious but looks like needing little bit repair here and there. Hammocks and trampoline make the environment enjoyable for kids. The swimming pool is very well maintained. had great fun with the kids in the pool. The food is available only at 4 specific timings which is inconvenient for people who did not stop in the way from Bangalore. Request JLR to keep arrangement for some snacks at least. The resort allows one safari free per day of booking which is a tough deal as additional safari charges are 2400 per person for gypsy safari which is over priced. The nearest I have seen is Ranthambore. Rooms have ample lighting with tea/coffee facilities. The buffet spread is more than adequate with well cooked local cuisine. Overall a very pleasant experience for two nights.

Very good jungle type resorts in Nagarhole area just outside forest area. They offer jungle Safari into Nagarhole forest which is on a good safari jeep. Well organised with good guides Cum driver, on time start of safari trip. Also Worth doing nature walk in the morning which is basically within the resorts campus , guide will show you lots of Birds ( of course try this if you are a bird enthusiast else you might get bored) . Very nice experience we had. Binoculars and professional camera will be helpful. Spend good time within campus as well like cycling, trampoline, swings are some attractions within campus. Food is good. Mentally prepare yourself, sometimes you spot small insects near room like lizards , spider :)

Good: Size of the room is very big and extra beds are provided. Restaurant and housekeeping staff are very helpful and supportive Food is decent Bad: Rooms are very old and bath fittings need an immediate upgrade Safari is for 3 hours but about two hours (to and fro) drive is on main road! One hour drive is on muddy road where we have some chance of seeing big cats. I have been to their Bandipur resort and any day I would prefer their safaris. Ugly: Safari guides seem not at all interested and very grumpy with children. With a grumpy face, they were telling children that animals won't come if they utter any word. Funny thing is that their safari jeeps make noise bigger than a diesel generator and they think children should not talk :) For this reason, I will avoid this resort!

This was my first stay in a JLR property. I have heard mixed reviews from different people and hence had kept my expectations low. The property is about 20 kms from Hunsur and is barely a minute before the forest entry gate of Nagarhole. As we enter the property, it is quiet visible that it shares its borders with a reserve forest area and hence surrounded by solar electric fence. The drive to the reception is about 150 meters from the main gate and goes through a big lawn. The JLR team is ready to receive you at the reception and the check in process is pretty quick. The buggy then takes you and your luggage to your room. We stayed in room no 310 which was a couple of minutes walk from the reception area. There are two sets of rooms.. one that’s slightly below the basement and the one slightly elevated from the basement. I recommend you opting for the elevated one. The room had to be accessed by a short stairs. It opens to a huge 300+ sq ft living room which also has a small snack counter type layout with cup boards, mini fridge, hot water kettle, coffee and tea bag and a wash basin. The room has sofa arrangement, TV with Airtel DTH, a coffee table and few comfortable chairs as well. The living room opens to a large sit out through large French doors. This gives good natural lighting in the day time and also keeps the room well ventilated. There are few chairs and a coffee table in the sit out. To the side of the living room is a nice small dressing area, the bedroom and a large bathroom. The bed room is pretty large and had a King cot, a large dressing mirror & shelves and tall dressing closets. It had ample space to accommodate an additional cot for an adult kid. The room had a split A/C and a pedestal fan. The rooms were cold all through and we never had to use even the fan. The bath room was large with a bath tub and some nice Biotique toiletries. The room was comfortable and very functional but definitely needs a new lease of life. The restaurant was adjacent to the reception and was well appointed. The food was a mix of buffet and fixed menu. Pretty good spread of food and good quality. Staff service was awesome and were very caring. They remember your preference and was ready with it every time you went for food. The Safari arrangement was nice and comfortable. The naturalist Mr. Vijay was very knowledgeable and helped us with a great Safari experience. Mr. Shaan and Nipun managed the overall stay well and were great hosts. Overall a wonderful experience.

The major plus to stay in this resort is you get the package of Jeep Safari to Nagarhole National Park, from the resort itself. Coming to the stay part, it was a pleasant stay but definitely needs a makeover of this place. The bathroom fixtures needs servicing. Rooms also need some painting and maintanence. Food was good. Staff was courteous. Place is situated very close to nature. Overall it is good place, but needs improvement.

Seemed like we have entered a govt institution , the food was not ready in time , the swimming pool was not operation where as at a day earlier and late in Mysore-Coorg belt at the 2 other properties we stayed had the pool operational. Food variety was limited and the staff hovered over you . Also though a buffet the non veg items were served as in set menu.

Please pass along My Gratitude. Me and My Cousins spend couple of days every now and then at JLR Kings Sanctuary Nagarahole and I must say we are always delighted to visit this place again & again! :) The staff here - be it Manager, Naturalists, Drivers, Housekeeping or even be it helpers are knowledgeable and lovely. The rooms / cottages are good and the views and sound from the nature are always splendid! Beyond the relaxing atmosphere of the rooms, the next best part is the fantastic food at Golghar. The menu has a good variety of food choices and the preparation made for superior tasting. The staff is very attentive, professional and friendly. The Jungle here is always a place to fall in LOVE with, Safari's are very well organized and one can definitely enjoy Photographing floral and fauna of the Jungle. Highly recommend a visit to this JLR property with friends and family. "Happy Staying, Happy Sighting!!"

Excellent holiday to be with the nature. One of the most beautiful jungles to visit in south India. Every season has something new. Nice property with spacious rooms, excellent outdoors, good food and super staff. Have completely enjoyed the stay here. Would recommend for everyone to visit with family or for photography.
