Good for family/couple stay near to mall who come by their own vehicle. Have all the amenities required for family stay. Free Parking space if you are coming by driver, a restaurant to serve you all meals if you prefer hotel stay, its worth waiting for 15-20 mins but food is really home like and tastier. Hotel is equipped with heater at rooms and many places. Lower floors offers good valley view. Exhaust fans in washrooms though something would have added great value to room. Location wise Its about 20-25 min walk away from Mall for young people. Some initial 200 mt. is steep walk which is difficult for senior citizens who can go to lift via car and then reach mall. Hotel also offers travel desk who apart from providing taxies for trips help you out to plan your day. Overall a good satisfied stay.

The hotel is at a very good location just 100m away from the tunnel while you move left coming from Chandigarh. The rooms are good and spacious!
The staff was really courteous and made sure all our needs were taken care of! Ms.Meenu and Ms. Parul at the reception made sure that our family and rooms are well taken care and the hotel itself was really clean and properly sanitized!
Definitely worth your visit if you want to be somewhere near to the Mall Road and still away from the main hustle...The drive to the lift for Mall road is just 5 minutes from here and if you want to walk then the Mall road is about 10-12 min up hill .
P.S they also have a decent car parking space that can accommadate upto 7 Vehicles upstairs and abour 3-4 down the ramp!
The buffet at the hotel was great as well!
They are still renovating some parts of the hotel so you can expect a lot more coming in from them in the future.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Royale Retreat. We were traveling from the U.S. and were very happy with all the amenities provided and were very comfortable while there. Mr. Rohit Jassal was very friendly and accommodating and helped us organize a cab to our next location after leaving. He took extra care to help us set up a stop at a nearby place for hiking with the driver as well.
The hotel was within walking distance of the train station and the Mall Road, which was very convenient. We had a great view of the foothills from our room. It was also quiet, which was good for sleeping! Only con was WiFi reception was spotty in the room, but worked well on the main floor.
Do be advised that there is a different location marked on Google Maps that had us confused when finding the hotel. The correct location has the hotel phone number listed. Hopefully you won't wander around like us!

We stayed here over new years 2023, for 3 nights with 4 rooms, and had a very bad experience. The housekeeping is below par, they do not have staff to maintain the hotel, the Manager Mr. Vineet, was disrespectful, shameless and disregarded our requests on any basic ask. They provide torn towels, shabby bed sheets, broken cutlery. Very unhygienic hotel for a 4 star category. Vineet mentioned “they don’t care about reviews and you can do what the hell you want” Kindly don’t waste your money to stay here

The room was terrible and I was charged 7k per night when we entered the room the first thing we noticed is soiled bed sheets so we requested for change then we saw the bathroom was super dirty looked like it haven’t been cleaned from ages then dust was there on table. I called up the manager and he told that he can’t do much and we have to adjust in this room only. Seriously worst stay in Shimla and above that No feeling of regret to the manager.

Excellent stay , with good staff.
Mr Chatterjee and Mra Ritu was really helpful and understanding.
I visited there with my family. Excellent food , staff and property. The staff in the restaurant was also very cooperative, even being late they served food and even breakfast.

I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good service or good food. Since we visited in summers so wanted some cold water which was not available not ice. To our surprise even lemon water was also not available . Since we wanted some evening snacks but of the items ordered were not available & those served were tasteless served after about an hour after they were ordered. Called reception & restaurant multiple times but all efforts in vain. Overall a horrific experience not suggested at all. Yes the hotel looks good from outside but that is it that is good about it. Even room temperature is controlled centrally & you cannot change the room temperature either.

The place offers a decent stay with clean rooms, good location and friendly staff. There is ample parking space and you are never out of the option to park your vehicle. The breakfast, included in our plan, was average. Nothing stood out but the staff was courteous to offer service at the table, even though it was a self service setup.

We Booked two Suite rooms and they give us 404 and 106, 404 was good like a suite room but 106 was a simple room but bit bigger than normal room and washroom was dirty and not sanitized. We went to reception and ask for the room change they denied as they have only 03 suite rooms with then and one of the room was occupied, we would like to raise the complaint with the higher management, Then their Operation Manager Mr. Bhupender Came to us and talk us professionally as Hotelier but suddenly their GM Mr. Sumit came to us and start to give us explanation wich was not justified and not suits to a GM and he was over confident at that movement. After that we coordinate with the Operation manager and due to his efforts our stay was confirmable there finally we decided to extend our stay for one more night. Staff was courteous and helpful. Ms Jayoti from housekeeping is dedicated toward their job, She cleaned our room and i have seen her attention was always in her work.
I am also a hotelier and working in Abu Dhabi (Intercontinental Hotel) as a GM and I feel that they have a good staff and they need some training.
Food Quality is also good but service need to improve. Thank you Mr. Bhupender to make our stay wonderful.

Over all experience was very bad!!
Very Slow in every aspects late check in even after repeated requests on reaching the hotel early
Room are not properly cleaned even after the checkout time is around 12 pm to 12:30 pm according to staff over front desk. When we get room at 2pm
Bed sheat, cushion cover are not clean even after paying money for premium (Royal) room. Just imagine your self what was the condition for lower category rooms over there
Washroom was not clean properly even after requesting for 2-3 times to house keeping and front deck staff.
Even check out process is so slow & exhausting for us.
The over all experience for Royale retreat shimla is very exhausting and very bad.
On my behalf I don't recommend it to any one.
