The Best Place in India with amazing rooms full of luxury india art and asian. Its an incredible palace with beautiful living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and all ambients with high decor, amazing food, chai and breakfast.A garden like the movie Secret Garden and where you go in the hotel is all colourfull and full of amazing feelings by the environment there. In the South Delhi in a posh area with many restaurants, markets around and all you need.Close to everywhere you want to go in Delhi. The ower Mr.Promod is very polite helpful person who really knows how to treat the guest.I stayed there a long time and i consider as my home. The staff is very nice and helfful.I loved the rooms i stayed in different ones but i really love the Budha wallpaper room, the last floor room with all green and art decor and the single room. They have kitchen with all you need as stove, microwaves etc.You have also fridge to put your things. Each room has an art different decor and theme and a different beautiful elegant bathroom. Big beds and very confortable. We stayed at On The House for 3 nights in February, and it was truly a haven from the noise and smells of Delhi. Roger was really helpful with directions, ordering taxis etc Our rooms were comfortable and the decorations were full of character, we loved the feel of the being in India. It was great having our breakfast in the dining room with the other guests, and the roof terrace was delightful. We'd happily stay again if ever we are in Delhi.

We initially stayed three nights at this homestay and then came back for an extra night just before we left India as we loved it so much. Located in a peaceful gated community close to Delhi city center (near Green Park metro), it was an ideal base for sightseeing. We felt safe in the area at all times and there are some great local restaurants and banks nearby. Our room was next to the kitchen with a small balcony facing towards communal gardens. It was really quiet during the night and we slept incredibly well. The bed was great too and plenty of hot water in the shower. We didn't meet the owner in person, but she was quick to respond to our emails and very helpful with regards to leaving us a metro map and suggestions for sightseeing itinerary :) Roger, the guy in charge of dealing with their guests, is super nice and speaks fluent english. He helped us book taxis & ubers, suggested some great local places for dinner and we very much enjoyed talking to him. The rest of the staff was also really friendly and breakfast was good. We wanted to have dinner at the homestay but ran out of time and hence didn't try it. I have seen some bad reviews of this place and I am honestly not sure why. I guess it is down to expectations. This is not a hotel. It is a home/bed & breakfast and if you arrive with that in mind you are going to have a lovely experience. We would happily stay here again (and it is also a place I would be comfortable staying at on my own if I was a female solo traveller) :)

We stayed one evening at this homestay. The staff was very attentive and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms were cozy & comfortable. We enjoyed the rooftop seating where we had our coffee. We stayed here our first evening before moving on to Agra. We were exhausted from our international travel and wanted to eat in. One of the staff members walked us to take-out dining as well as a place to pick up a few beers. Once we brought it back to the Homestay, the staff brought out plates and silverware for our takeout food. I would recommend staying here.

My husband and I had terrible experience staying here being our first time in India. We had 3 nights reservation, but ended staying only one night for the following reasons 1) ) My husband and I arrived around 4PM on Nov. 30,2019. The old man outside the gate, perhaps the guard, told us to go top floor, his finger pointing at the house. He never told us what level top floor is. He never asked for our names to see if we were the expected guests! We had 2 very heavy luggages and quite scared to carry them on the stairs not knowing what floor we were supposed to go to. I sent my husband upstairs, but he couldn't find anybody anywhere. So I went outside again to ask the old man what’s going on and where is somebody to talk to check in. The man across the street heard my frustration and talked to the old man pointing his finger upstairs. I don't know what he said, but somebody came downstairs finally and took us to our room. (Our room by the way was on the same floor as kitchen and dining. our designated room was right next to the kitchen that between 2-3 in the morning we heard loud talking and laughing in the kitchen/dining area). 2) The very worst thing was the toxic fume that greeted us downstairs all the way to the level we were on. The man who took our information said that it is camphor! We know what camphor smells like! This is very toxic smell of a solvent or paint thinner or something. My husband’s eyes were burning and when I went down to check the source of it(very bottom floor) I hurriedly left to go back to my room as I felt like suffocated and I was having heart palpitation from the toxic smell. My husband won’t stay in the room and had to stay on the balcony due to burning eyes. Finally, George came after about half an hour later and we told him our concern about the toxic fume coming strongly from downstairs and how my husband and I were distressed about it that we wanted to check out! He mentioned about people downstairs using paint thinner. Somehow he probably had the people stop what they were doing downstairs as the fume eventually dissipated. 3) Also when we opened the bedroom.we were greeted with what I would describe cigarette smoke smell. The guy said it was camphor again! I cannot believe it is camphor. If it was incense then sorry, it smelled like cigarette smoke. We do light incense at home, but it never smells like this one! 4) We ended up staying for the night with the smell gone, but not having a guarantee that the smell will not return the following day, we decided to check out. I asked George and the other guy to call the owner as I want to talk to her about our situation. I had them call her the day prior also when we were drowning in the toxic fume to tell her our situation, but she never answered the call apparently. She never called back either to our knowledge. I emailed her to ask if there is penalty for checking out early. She replied by saying that we have to pay the rest of the days reserved. So, I emailed her back and told her the reasons why we were checking out early, the experience that I just mentioned above. I also told her that I will dispute the charges with my credit card company. 5) A friend our ours in Delhi managed to talk to her on the phone about our complaints. She told our friend that there was no such smell. How could she smell it when she was not physically there to witness it? She wouldn't even answer her employee's call! Needless to say, we checked out early. I booked this place because of the good reviews I saw, but for being in India for the first time in my life, this was a very, very, bad experience in this place. As to the place, I can hardly remember a very good thing to say about it due to the traumatic experience except that the room color was good, but the table or any surface available as a table top is occupied by decorations of statues and it us feel we were in an antiques shop. We had trouble finding a spot to put our belongings due to the displays on the table. The TV does not work well. Roger helped us, but we were not successful how to make it work. The remaining 2 nights we were charged is currently under dispute.

Response from On_The_House, Owner at On The House
Responded 16 Jan 2020
It is really disappointing that the guest has written such a negative review and the case she is making out is totally not based on facts, which are as under: The guests arrived on November 30 evening for 3 days (as per their reservation). 1. They did not mention ANYTHING on arrival. 2. The following morning they decided to checkout early as they wanted to shift to a place closer to the airport, which is what they told the staff. 3. Their email of November 30 is reproduced below in which she only asked "what if we checkout earlier. Is there a penalty": Hi Aradhna, Is there penalty for checking out early? We reserved for 3 nights and what if we check out tomorrow? Is there penalty? Will appreciate your speedy reply. Thank you. 4. We responded that our policy is "no cancellation refund"after checkin. This is also very clearly given on our website. 5. In the morning of Dec1 they had breakfast, gave the credit card for charging and left. 6. Before leaving they said nothing but only sent an email narrating various points because of which they wanted to leave. 7. We would categorically state that all that was mentioned in the email is ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT and an afterthought. They said nothing in the evening on arrival as is evident from her email of Nov 30, 2019. Ours is one of the oldest and a very well known and well reputed Bed & Breakfast in Delhi known for its service, facilities and ambience which is borne out by over 250 excellent/very good reviews. We reiterate that this review is TOTALLY INCORRECT and if I may say so MALAFIDE.
