How this place can be still on trip advisor when it is closed since so long?! And still put at number 7 This is not serious even from trip advisor not to check properly places listed on your site! I thought trop advisor was a reliable site, quite disappointing!
I stayed at Haveli Haus for one night before my flight home to the USA and I would absolutely stay here again. Everyone was very kind, the food was delicious and homemade (the best I had eaten during my three week trip)! and my room was comfortable, very clean and I loved the simple but unique decoration.
This small guest house is in a small gated community and has a lovely calm atmosphere. The house is modern and light and if you are interested in textiles, it has some great examples of rugs and other artefacts from Indian regions. Also some very interesting photos of tribes people taken by the owner. We did not eat here in the evening and breakfast was good without being exceptional. Very peaceful until the airport opened at 5 am - the property is right under the flight path.
We have recently returned from a 2 night stay at the Haveli Hauz Khas, we had booked an early arrival by booking the night prior and were so pleased that we did. When we arrived we were offered breakfast which was greatly appreciated. We then relaxed on the roof terrace for the afternoon. We ordered dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the 3 course meal we were offered. The staff cannot do enought for you and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for making us so welcome. My only complaint would be the noise from the planes flying over, but I should have take ear plugs.
Usually when we travel we like to stay in the thick of things in the old city. However, given how overwhelming and chaotic Old Delhi is, with some misgivings I decided on South Delhi. Boy, am I glad I did, and I'm especially glad I chose Haveli Hauz Khas. Our room (the Banni Room) was lovely, and was adorned with pictures taken by the owner's parents of various Indian tribes. The breakfast is to die for; I highly recommend the aloo paratha with their homemade marmalade and mango chutney. Finally, Guntas was a warm and solicitous host; eager to answer any question. When we got caught out in a freak hailstorm (!) he offered to make us soup or tea. Exactly the kind of pampering I craved after days spent in tumultuous Old Delhi.
We were lucky enough to spend the first & last night of our Rajasthan trip at the Hauz Khas, which has fabulous hosts & staff, & the most delicious curries. Be sure to have dinner here, as the dishes are so tasty. Throughly enjoyed meeting Tejinder, who is the most talented photographer & a fascinating man.
Beautiful room and lounge area, super comfortable bed, amazing breakfast. Great locations. The hosts Teji and Guntas went out of their way to make sure I had a wonderful stay in Delhi and organized a city tour and other activities (yoga, massage etc) for me. Will definitely stay here again and hopefully longer next time.
A wonderful family run haveli with enormously interesting hosts who generously shared their home and provided all the comforts needed when travelling Delicious breakfasts inc home made pickles Filled with stunning photos taken by excellent host and interesting artefacts from all over India Couldn't have been a better introduction to India Highly recommended
An exquisite haveli for anyone wanting a more genuine experience of India in New Delhi - this family-run business provides warm, personal service. Large rooms and bathrooms, public areas filled with books, art and the owners own spectacular photos, which have been published in several coffee table books. A lovely breakfast and great upstairs terrace to relax and, if you don't want to eat in, there's the marvellous southern Indian restaurant reasonably priced Naivedyam, which does great thali plates, amongst other dishes ten minutes away by taxi in the upmarket Hauz Khas village. Here also is the Hauz Khas park and ruins several centuries old, and very worth a wander around late afternoon before dining.
What a wonderful gem of a place in the leafy quiet area in New Delhi. The hosts could not have been nicer, more helpful and accommodating for the 6 of us. Endless variety of delicious breakfast. Very helpful with providing local info and maps.
