We stayed in a few hotels in Delhi and for the price, this was the best. A basic room but clean and spacious. We had a room looking out on to the chaotic Main Street which was fascinating to watch. Their soundproofing was the best we had in Delhi - still noise of course (it’s Delhi!!) but was much easier on the ears. Staff were very attentive, whenever we asked for something we got it immediately. I read some reviews about taxis being high and tours etc - all hotels are we found. Tip is to find a driver/organise yourself if you don’t want to pay hotel prices. Overall great stay.
The front desk staff are really helpful and the rooms are ok, nothing spectacular but perfectly reasonable. The surrounding area is not great but it's near Delhi train station which has open urinals etc. Room service is really good Beware of the travel desk. Paid 1,600 for a driver through them who took me to one site and then forced me to take a rickshaw who then forced me to go into dusty shop. When I complained to the travel desk, he said, I should have walked between the sites. This was after paying 1,600 then! Very untrustworthy people, but it's Delhi all over. Can't trust anyone.
Neat and clean worth for what you paid . Don't expect it to be calm bcoz it's a main road hotel in heart of Delhi (capital which never sleep ) staff seems helpful but always insist you to buy a tour which I didn't like it else everything was good ! Would love to stay again if ever in Delhi !
Stayed at City Star again last month, previously had stayed in 2015 - https://www.tripadvisor.in/ShowUserReviews-g304551-d3520941-r325200312-Hotel_City_Star-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html Completely run-down state now. Minimal staff so it took a long time just to get the extra cots (which had been paid for) delivered into the room. Wash basin in the toilet had the sink strainer completely dismantled and jutting out. Staff is still friendly. Hence the rating of 2.
Booked my stay with Hotels.com very good deal stayed twice once on arrival in India early March and 4 days in April. Communication was good with the hotel did not book taxi with them was told it was cheaper to get taxi from Airport which worked fine . Both times my rooms were super clean as is the rest of the hotel, had no issues with staff all were very pleasant and eager to help. Hotel is on a very busy road but no noise inside hotel as it’s very well insulated. I know the area well so not a problem finding places to eat etc. The bedding is clean and staff asked about cleaning room as I had all my personal belongings spread out. All in all a very pleasant stay would definitely stay again as it’s close to the railway station and Connaught place. Plenty of Tuk Tuks available. The gentleman on the door is worth mentioning always ready to help. Did have a slight problem with my bill on my first visit but was sorted out efficiently without hassle. Hope to stay here the future.…
So I tried booking a room using the hotels website was unsuccessful. I chose the hotel because it was close to where I needed to be. And all of the ad said that they would pick you up at the airport. This is not true after six emails and back-and-forth back-and-forth finally got them to arrange a taxi to pick me up a very small taxi the driver was polite and cost me 1100 Rupees There was no restaurant as advertised no breakfast as advertised. I was only given the option of meager room service for breakfast For the price the hotel is fine. I thought I found a diamond in the rough. It was just rough. The staff is very polite and does their best to help. The daily bottled water made it a big difference. I will say there’s not much in the way of restaurants outside and it’s very noisy. If you were staying there waiting for the train the next day you would be very happy if you were staying there to try to have a good experience ,I will find a different hotel…
It's a nice stay. Clean rooms and good staff. Price is also reasonable. And have some good food places nearby, even for some midnight snacks. Place is calm for a solo trip. So will opt this place for next stay.
We stayed for three nights in early March. Doesn't look like much on the outside but the rooms were spacious & clean. Service OK, most not in a huge rush to help you but Security Guard and Reception were helpful. We got room service twice, was pleasantly surprised. Aloo Gobi was top notch. Room service itself lacking. Breakfast was very boring in a grotty basement. Free airport taxi service was fantastic, even picked us up at 2am. Overall, hit & miss, not an inspiring stay but in Delhi you could do a whole lot worse for sure
We stay this hotel know last month and it was very bad experience with no good food no restaurant and people are their very rude with us even the not speak good English. Some staff in front desk the also not understand the English. Front desk must learn English. My room AC is not working I told him that my AC not working after 20 minute no body come and I call again to front desk but no response. Front desk staff was not good.
I had no expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by just how good Hotel City Star was. I’d prearranged my free pickup via the hotel’s website; and despite taking over an hour to exit the airport, my driver was still waiting outside for me. I arrived at the hotel just before 9am, and was told my room would be ready in half an hour - they kindly gave me a drink and the WiFi code while I waited. My room was huge, comfortable and clean. I was on the 2nd floor, and despite looking out onto the street (which was incredibly busy) I had no issues with noise. That evening I ordered room service, as they no longer have a restaurant at the hotel. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast was quite basic, but very good. I only stayed for one night, but when I checked out they stored my luggage for me until I returned in the afternoon. I was very impressed with Hotel City Star and highly recommend staying there.…
