First the positives : The hotel has more than 500 rooms and is located in the heart of New Delhi. It is one of the best addresses in Lutyens Delhi. Large, spacious and terrific infrastructure with everything that a five star hotel needs and more. It has almost everything... Spa, several restaurants, a full fledged bank, swimming pool, travel desk,...

A visit to the Ashok Hotel in central delhi makes one realize quite emphatically, why the government (of India) has no business running hotels and airlines and be in the hospitality sector in the first place. Located at enviably the best location in the national capital, the hotel is an epitome of neglect and systematic loot of the public resources...

This is the only hotel with 600 operational rooms in India and owned by the Govt. Staff is courteous and rooms are spacious. What sucks is the complete lack of signal for Wifi..restaurants like Sagar Ratna and Oudh are a total ripoff with outrageous menu prices. Breakfast spread is decent and the staff does care for service.

Good but not very good. The superstructure is very big and glorious. But the maintenance became poor. Just like a old hotel. Location is suitable for business or official tour specially for the governmental office. Otherwise even there is no hotel or small shop beside the hotel situated in the diplomatic zone. Room decoration also not that standard actually became...

Do not choose this hotel. Stayed there one night. I had always known that the only reason why anyone stays there is that the government puts guests up here, plus Air India has its crew sleep there. Nobody else should ever go there. The rooms are very worn-down, the bathroom shower is a joke, carpets are stained, flayed and dirty (probably...

How can the management be so ignorant and offer such rooms to their customer . We were shifted to other room where the story was same...

This is one of the big hotel in Delhi. Rooms are little old but well maintained. I visited here for my friend marriage and i stayed here for one night. Interior of hotel is very good. Food is average is taste. Staff is good. Staff are not too professional. Over all good old hotel.

'They just don't make grandeur like this any more' is the proud boast on the hotel stationery... the hotel has an incredible list of in-house facilities, the plumbing works, the pool is clean, the staff are numerous and very helpful, but everything feels a little unloved and in need of a little polish. It is however worth a stay if...
