We arrived very late in the afternoon and left very early in the morning so couldn't really enjoy this hotel to the fullest. Staff werevery helpful and the rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable with big beds and modern bathroom. Dinner was great and the artwork on the walls was for sale (much to our friend's delight). In the morning we were provided with a boxed breakfast as we were leaving so early, which was a lovely touch. The area the hotel was in was very quit.

I was warmly welcomed with a glass of refreshing iced tea as soon as I entered the eclectic guest lobby :D Bright, cheerful and warm with interesting curios! The staff was super warm and i was served my meals graciously in my room without much wait. They have provision for a terrace restaurant as well. My English breakfast was especially fabulous with yummy French crepes! Comfortable beds with bright sunny cozy fixtures that made my bedroom an absolute worth! I would stay there again and again for the peace, quiet and hospitality of the place!

A friend recommended this place to us and we're so happy we stayed! Positives: 1. It was very cute, the rooms are really unique and nicely designed. The service was great and the staff were all very nice and helpful. They even took our money and went to recharge our phone's sim card while we waited for a taxi to arrive! 2. The location is really good and we felt pretty close to a lot of fun places to go and things to see. It's really safe, private and on a pretty quite street. 3. The owner is very friendly, and will sit and write out recommendations of what to do and arrange the transportation to get you there! We visited the Taj Mahal while we stayed there, and the owner arranged a really good driver with a surprise tour guide included! His connections all have really competitive prices. He took so much time to talk to us and make sure that we were having a good stay and enjoying our trip to Dehli. 3. The food there is really great, everything we ordered for Breakfast was delicious! We were leaving for a day trip at 3am on 2 separate days, and they let us order breakfast earlier that night, and they delivered it right to our room so we can eat while we get ready. We also ordered dinner to the room one night and it was absolutely delicious!! Negatives: 1. We were there during monsoon season and they don't seem to have really good protection from Mosquitoes. There were hundreds of them flying around in the dining room, and when we told the staff about it, he pulled out an electric mosquito racket and swung it around and destroyed the colony! So that was cool of him, but there were just so many mosquitoes I wish they would install screen doors at all the entrances to keep most of them out. 2. It's an older building so the walls are really thin and if you're unlucky enough to have a noisy neighbor, it sounds like they're in the room with you. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, would absolutely recommend anyone to stay here while they're in Dehli! Thank you to the owner and his staff for all their hospitality and assistance!

Amarya Villa is perfectly located if you want access both to Central Delhi & the new attractions of Gurgaon. Recommended by a friend, and going by the reviews, we were prepared to be amazed. We stayed twice, for 1 night each time, with a space of 2 days in between. Since four of us wanted to be in adjoining rooms, we had to take the Blue Sapphire & Ruby Executive rooms. They were priced at 5800 per room per night even after a seasonal discount, which is pricey by guest house standards but we thought the location made it worthwhile. We were warmly greeted by Athalia at the front desk, served a refreshing drink, seamlessly checked in and shown to our rooms. At first sight, one is instantly taken by the aesthetics of each room. Nice colours, good linen, lot of space. The beds seemed comfortable thought one bed creaked every time one turned over. Unfortunately aesthetics do make for a comfortable stay. So here are the positives and some suggestions. Positives: 1. Location. Khan Market, Janpath, GK, Green Park, Hauz Khas, South Extension.......all minutes away. The Gurgaon exit 2. Smiling staff who attends to your needs with gentleness and immediacy. We asked for extra bottles of water which were instantly provided and our wake up calls were dot on time 3. Superb coffee and masala chai! 4. Very good breakfast that starts with fresh fruits and juice, and continues through a choice of eggs with excellent bread, pancakes with honey or fruit compote and a variety of Indian dishes. Each item is freshly made and as per choice. And the coffee!! 5. Free wifi though it’s certainly not high-speed as the website mentions Negatives and suggestions: 1. The bathroom attached to the Blue Sapphire is poky and extremely hot! There is no fan and no exhaust! The flush barely brought a trickle and we had to ask for a bucked to pour water every time it was used! The shower was feeble and required one to spend far too much time in that hot space. Even after complaining during the 1st stay, no repairs were carried out by the time we returned. 2. The toilet paper rolls were stacked on a narrow window sill which made reaching for them difficult and they often ended up on the floor. 3. The chairs had disappeared from one room by our 2nd visit, and had to be requested again. I wonder if they went walk-about! 4. The AC in the Blue Sapphire never cooled the room, in spite of being set at 17 degrees. Even their staff member admitted that the room was warm. 5. The Ruby room was really strange in that there was no wall, let alone a door between the bedroom and the bathroom! A tiny balcony & a tea-making alcove made the space seem large but the bathroom was completely open with no external ventilation! There are 2 basins (why???) separated by two Perspex (?) partitions that makes the shower stall, and beyond that, the commode. Within the shower area, there are no holders for soap/shower accessories or a hook to hang a towel. Even with 2 people in an intimate relationship, the gymnastics involved in sharing this bathroom are considerable! 6. On our 2nd visit, we found to our horror, that the sheets in the Ruby room were stained. The staff were quick to change them, offering lame reasons (junk lag gaya!) but it’s not on 7. A guest’s luggage with a pile of clothes on top was kept at the foot of the stairs going up from the sitting area; not a pretty sight in an otherwise beautifully done up room 8. Suggestion: A small chiller in the higher priced rooms would add value, and is frankly a necessity for today’s travellers. Would I go back? Yes probably. Would I go back for the same price? Not unless the facilities were improved upon. To give them credit, the management did reduce our bill by a small amount when we pointed out that the problems we had faced. Not enough, but it was a good gesture.

Amarya Villa is where I'll be staying when I'm next in Delhi. It is centrally located (just about 20mins drive to places like CP/Khan Market, and just like 10mins from Hauz Khas Village). The ambience is very relaxed and low-key. The staff are really genuinely warm and accommodating. And, the rooms are simple but gorgeous.
