Stayed in the Desire hostel for two nights. First of all they made a mistake with our booking which was supposed to be for a private room for two nights. They decided to inform us at 13:00 the day that we were arriving that the private room was not available and to ‘help us out’ they would put us in a mixed dorm for the first night. They barely even gave us a discount off the price for in huge inconvenience that it was causing us. I also don’t understand how they could not have informed us sooner so that we could have booked a different place, but that was probably their aim to let us know late so that they would not loose out on business. The staff were disinterested about their work and not very helpful. The breakfast which was included was a dismal piece of bread and cornflakes. The room was very cold and not very clean. On our second night in the hostel the staff decided to have a party in the reception area with a couple of people who were staying in the hostel which was beside our room, the noise was horrific . I could hear one staff in particular who was being very loud. The party went on until 3am in the morning. Having looked at the ‘rules for people staying in the hostel’ it clearly states that there is to be no noise from 11pm onwards. Disgraceful how the staff don’t even regard their own rules. I have stayed in a lot of different hostels and travelled a lot but this was the worst experience I have ever had with a hostel.

The hostel is fantastic. Deeksha at the front desk goes above and beyond to assist in anything you can need or want while staying there. Good atmosphere and free breakfast in the morning. I would stay there again...

Hey guess what I just got kicked out of the hostel cause a few friends of mine out for having a good time, the apparent manager tells me he had things planned for all of then n didn't pitch it to them.a few friends and hostel all joined us for the food walk yesterday and they didn't get a chance to take you all out and make money. Apparently they had plans to take everyone out it seems and me and others washed the plan down the drain. Place is good to stay and all and apparently if you plan to go out with other hostel mates you need to be careful it Seems.just show how incompetent the management is and useless they are.they apparent owner mail sita there like he is seeing stars and does not talk. Kapil grow a spine and talk when a guest ask you for answers

We stayed in a few different hostels in Delhi, but the Desire hostel is unmatchable. The staff and the owner actually knows the exact meaning of hospitality unlike other hostels in Delhi we have stayed in. Very helpful staff and amazing homemade food on very economic price. Easy to locate, in the centre of the capital, close to the monuments, close to the metro station, close to 24*7 store. I think if someone is looking for a backpacker hostel which gives you the actual feel of hostel not the commercial hotel then desire hostel is the right place for him. The staff is polite and nice. The owner Kapil is amazing and treat you in such a nice way that I you won't like to leave the hostel. Looking forward to my next stay with the hostel :)
