In the afternoon we arrive at the outskirts of Majnukatilla, the Tibetan quarter. There we take a rickshaw [100INR] for the luggage, and walk through some alleys to
Wongdhen House. The staff is not very helpful at first glance. We have rooms on different floors, the elevator appears to be unstoppable on the 3+4th floor, difficult with a lot of luggage. Rooms are small but ok, there is a kettle and bottle of drinking water available. There is no view. For dinner or breakfast you can go to the immediate vicinity. Ama café is a good recommendation. You can arrange a taxi to the airport at the reception for 1600INR + 100INR rickshaw for the luggage.

We were very happy to find this cute hotel in the calm quarter of Majnu Ka Tilla, and the experience was above all expectations. At the point of having chosen it for all our following visits to Delhi.

All staff are very helpful and provide any vital information and solutions to all our small and relevant needs.

Especially, at the reception Sonam and Penam and Tsetan the manager made everything easy for us at each stay.
All the younger and older workers that assisted us had a very professional attitude and we thank all of them for their always kind support.

The hotel has a lovely view to the Signature Bridge and the Yamuna river, which we could enjoy from our room and admire it from the roof top terrace at the Signature Cafe.

Outstanding mention to the Sumo Restaurant on the ground floor, from where we tasted delightful cooking at level of high cuisine.

The hotel is well connected to Airport and Bus station of Kashmere Gate or New Delhi Train station.

Wongdhen House is a very recommendable medium size Hotel in a calm spot of Delhi like Majnu Ka Tilla.

My wife and I often stay in Majnu ka Tilla at Wongden House whenever we visit Delhi, as we've generally had pleasant experiences in the past. However, during this visit, we encountered a few issues that left us disappointed.

Firstly, when some of our friends joined us and checked into their room, they found that the air conditioning wasn’t working. It was an especially hot day, so they asked the receptionist if they could switch to a room with a functional AC. Unfortunately, the receptionist responded quite rudely, saying it wasn’t her concern and that her shift was over, directing them to speak to the security guard instead. This was unexpected and unprofessional behavior.

Secondly, another friend of ours, who’s from Delhi, came to visit us, and it got late. We asked the same receptionist if there was an available room for him to stay, and again, her response was unfriendly. She bluntly said there were no rooms, without any further explanation. This attitude didn’t make us feel welcome.

The room itself was just okay but could definitely use more thorough cleaning, and there was an unpleasant smell coming from the window. Given these issues, we felt the price was quite high for what we received.

Overall, this experience was disappointing, and we hope Wongden House improves its customer service and room upkeep in the future.

The Floor was dirty, spreading to my feet whenever I touched the ground. The sheets were also full of dirt and had several large stains of red on the sheets, I don't want to know what that was. After a lpng day you would expect to be able to have a nice warm shower, unfortuantley the hot water doesn't exactly work. As a sidenote the room also smelt really bad.

The room was dirty, no hot water. Way overpriced. Restaurant is good, but I wouldn't recommend staying here.

I asked for a discount based on the lack of hot water, this was refused. I've often stayed in this area to contribute to the Tibetan community, service like this makes it hard.

We needed a stop over after travelling for days and checked out the review on tripadvisor. With directions at hand we found good food, good music and cheap accommodation.Comfortable and ideal for all pockets. We arrived on the Tibetan New year and the staff though fully booked found us rooms to crush in for the night. I loved their food more. The food reminds me of mother's cooking. I loved the chow mein, pork, chinese chicken chopsey and chicken mongolian.
They were also very accommodative in storing our luggage at no cost if you check out earlier and want to move around Delhi as you wait for your evening flight. check out time 12pm.

We needed a place from only 7am to midnight. They answered back via email promptly and kindly let us in at 630am. Everything closed because of Tibetan New Years, but they brought breakfast and tea to our room! The room is basic, worn, leaky faucet, as we've come to expect in India budget travel. But the friendly, kind staff are priceless. There are many other good guest houses in Tibetan colony, but more difficult to find and contact them. The whole place is a fabulous break from the noise and push of Delhi.
