We stayed two nights at the Colonel’s Retreat at the start of a 3 week trip in India. It was a lovely place to stay, a nice room, comfortable bed, clean and spacious. Good shower in the ensuite bathroom. There was a cold spell in Delhi at the time of our stay, and they had

First floor room off of main entry. Love the purple accents
How comfortable are the beds as I find a lot of Indian beds have a very hard mattress.
Yes, the beds are comfortable and firm, without being too hard.

I would suggest asking them to send a car for you. It will be more expensive than a taxi because it's a " double run" but it won't be a wallet buster cost. The reason is because New Delhi traffic and the sheer size of the place. You can't assume that the taxi driver from the airport will be able to find the Colonels retreat. I took a local taxi during my stay, it was a 15-20 ride, but it took 45 minutes because the taxi driver, a very nice man, from Amritsar not Delhi ! didnt know his way around LOL the taxi drivers often rely on you knowing where you are going . The Colonels Retreat is fantastic , just let them take care of you,

I agree with the previous reply. We arrived around mid day and the hotel arranged a pick up from the airport. Great to avoid the hassle of arranging a cab on arrival when you are jet lagged and have waited 2hours to be visa processed. I can't recall how long it took to reach the hotel but was hampered by numerous heavy traffic jams. The hotel are prompt at answering any emails so do contact them and they will answer your query.
