Hotel The Royal Plaza garners mixed feedback from its guests. While the hotel is lauded for its clean rooms and luxurious atmosphere, complete with Greek and European decor and a charming evening pianist, some guests feel the value is lacking due to steep prices for food and services. The amenities, including a pool and spa, are generally appreciated despite occasional service hiccups.
Room opinions vary, with coziness noted but size and maintenance sometimes falling short. Service quality is inconsistent, although the central location near attractions is widely praised.

During my recent stay at the royal plaza Hotel, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service and attention to detail. The check-in process was seamless, with friendly staff who greeted me warmly and provided helpful information about the hotel’s amenities. My room was immaculate, spacious, and featured a stunning view of the city . The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep.
The hotel’s facilities were equally remarkable. I enjoyed a relaxing session at the spa, which was well-maintained and offered a variety of treatments. The pool was a standout feature, providing breathtaking panoramic views while being a perfect spot to unwind. The on-site restaurant served a diverse menu of delicious dishes, with breakfast being a particular highlight due to its wide range of options and fresh ingredients.
One minor drawback was the limited door key no working old doors lock
Overall, the royal plaza Hotel exceeded my

It was pretty inadequate experience for me. Sometimes the service was very prompt & good, sometimes I had to wait ages & my WiFi connectivity never got properly fixed. The Indian food quality was poor but western food was delicious, it was as if I was abroad & eating Indian food. Rooms were pretty small & claustrophobic though was neat & clean, some appliances were not working including the intercom which got repaired after a day only. The best part was the lobby & its decor

"I would like to express my appreciation for your staff's excellent care during my visit. Monalisa welcomed us with a warm smile, and Aman interacted wonderfully with customers during checkout. A special thanks to Rekha from the Food and Beverage department, who was incredibly attentive, checking on every table. Even though I was running late, she was so approachable that I still had time to enjoy dessert. Her positive and genuine attitude made a big difference.
I also encountered several other staff members on the floor who greeted me with smiles every time I passed by, making me feel truly welcomed. I’d also like to mention Harpal from my previous visit—his attentiveness and timely service left a lasting impression.
Thank you to everyone, and keep up the great work.

The rooms are very small and dirty. Upon arrival we found dirty sheets, pillows and towels so we had to ask to change them. The hair dryer was broken, the carpet dirty. The restaurant service at the tables was bad and very slow, there was little choice of dishes offered. The order taken of the dishes was marked by the waiter in bulk on a paper towel on the table. Even here the cleaning was poor, with the presence of small cockroaches that circulated freely on the walls in front of the buffet. On the morning of departure they did not want to open the room for us to have breakfast at 6.45, despite having agreed the night before and we had also asked at the reception several times. The only added value of this hotel is the central and convenient location, right next to the famous Shangri-La Hotel.

First, the good parts. Housekeeping (Ishu) was amazing, I always came back to a clean room and Ishu checked in on me to see if I needed anything. The coffee shop in the lobby is a treat - Rishab took really good care of me.
The poor rating given is mostly due to the facilities which made my stay unbearable. There was no Air Conditioning during my entire stay of 14 days. I always woke up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat. I begged the engineering crew to turn on air-conditioning, but the best they could do is turn the fan mode on. During the day I had to leave the room because it was too hot. For the entire 2 week stay, I was miserable in my room.
Another issue was accountability - I was told the property does not have a general manager, and the middle level managers were great listeners and understood my concerns, but at the end of the day, they did not seem to have any authority to make decisions. I requested a meeting with Mr. Megh, who I understood to be in-charge, but he declined saying he had no time availability. I had a double booking at the hotel, and had cancelled one on January 31. A credit note was issued within 3 days. However, it turned out to be a real ordeal to get my money back, requiring daily requests and discussions with Mr. Nitin. It took over 2 weeks to get the money back after the credit note was issued.
Overall, a major disappointment, but Hotel also has great assets in staff such as Ishu and Rishab among others.

On a arrive my husband, myself, our son and daughter in law all thought the hotel looked really nice. We were greeted warmly by the doorman and the staff who dealt with our bags. The front of house staff were unfriendly and couldn't even be bothered to smile. We were shown to our rooms and were shocked to find how dirty they were. The bathroom was filthy, the toilet hadn't even been flushed or cleaned from the last occupants. The bedding and towels were dirty and looked very old even the mini fridge was dirty. We complained and were all moved to different rooms. The new rooms were just as bad but were told that we could not be moved again, someone would come and clean the rooms. After an uncomfortable night in a dirty room which still hadn't been cleaned properly we complained to our travel company who sent a representative to sort the problem out. We were upgraded to better rooms. Although our new room was slightly better our toilet leaked, thankfully with clean water. We didn't bother complaining because by this time we had simply just had enough. The restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff at the hotel were rude, unhelpful and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The food was good, we enjoyed our evening meals. Breakfast was just okay, nothing special. The bar prices were expensive far more than we had paid in previous and far better hotels in India. The hotel bedrooms are in need of renovation, the curtains, nets, towels, bedding and furnishings are very old and dirty. It was really not a nice way to end what had been a wonderful three week holiday in India. I would not recommended this hotel to anyone.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life and I am even counting the 3 star hotels I have occassionally stayed at. I don’t know about the state of other room in this hotel but stay far away from the Standard Twin bedroom rooms on the 17th Floor that pop up last minute on MakemyTrip. Do not book these rooms. They are absolutely pathetic. MMT won't help you with anything, they are in cahoots with the hotel (you won't find these rooms at the lowered rate on any other site) and won't even let you write a review of the property!
I booked the hotel for 2 days. I checked in at 4:00 pm on 15th Dec. To my horror when I reached the room, it was filthy! There were stains on the mattresses, pillows, hair lying all around, a used towel lying down in the wardrobe and every piece of furniture in the room was covered in dust. It looked like they didn’t bother to clean the room after the last guest’s stay and just rearranged the used bedsheet and sheets in the name of cleaning.
I decided to call the reception to let them know and the intercom was nowhere to be found! I had to go back down to let them know about the state of the room. The mannerless guy at the reception made a face and was like ‘Ohh’ as if it was a minor invonvenience! He told me he’ll send somebody to make my room. No apology whatsover for the sorry state of the room and the inconvenience caused. He was too busy chatting with the other girl at the reception who was behaving as if she is not the staff but the owner of the hotel. Anyway, I went back to my room and nobody came for 25 minutes! I didn’t even have a place to sit as the beds were dirty, the chair was dusty, and no intercom to call them. I went back again to complain and again the same response.
The intercom was finally found lying under the bed! Wtf?!! It wasn’t working. No surprises there. Tv wasn’t working. NO hair dryer in the washroom, only 2 big towels were there, both looking dirty, didn’t dare to touch them. NO laundry bag, notepad or any other basic amenity. They call themselves a 4 star hotel, mind you.
It was the most disgusting hotel room I have ever seen in my life. No exaggeration. The only reason I booked this hotel was because everything nearby was sold out as I booked last minute. The only reason I stayed and endured this torture was because I had meetings the whole day and a Visa appointment the next day and had no time to spare shifting or demanding a room change. Thank God I only needed the room for storing my luggage and hardly went there during the daytime. I paid 16k for 2 nights for a dirty, filthy, stinking room which had no amenities.
If I was in the US, I would have sued these people, but this is India toh kya hi kar sakte hain.!

Wonderful experience. A very cordial and receptive team of staff. If I may single out one, simran has been a brilliant receptionist ever willing to help the guest on the minutest of issues. She has been helping out in facilitating smooth booking of rooms as well. My best wishes to her and the entire hotel management. Rooms are lil small but quite cosy. Food options are good and healthily cooked. Movement within the hotel premise is well planned, and a large number of lifts provided ensures that you don't have to wait for a lift at all. The overall facility, location, very reasonable tariff, efficient team of staff, and the positive vibes that you get in and around the hotel make it worth staying.

I had an incredibly disappointing and nightmarish experience during my two-night stay at this hotel. The staff was not only unhelpful but also quite rude, and the management was even more arrogant. It took over an hour to receive water bottles and one and a half hours for a simple tea order. The food preparation was subpar, with cooking oil that had a foul smell.
The management was poor, with no housekeeping staff and a generally untidy environment. There was no escalation process for complaints, and the staff were untrained and discourteous.
Despite Mr. Mittal, the owner, being present in the hotel, he seemed indifferent to the issues faced by guests, a sentiment echoed by the entire staff. The menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner were extremely limited and unappetizing.
This hotel, notorious for its past, only seems to attract a certain crowd due to its location. Overall, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare.

Very pleasant atmosphere in the whole premises as well as on each floor and in each room with keen and prompt services at any time round the clock. Each and every staff is respectful and friendly also. As we ener in the hotel, we get Darshan of Lord Ganesh, that makes us assurance of holiness and sanctity. When I came to this hotel for the purpose of U.S. Visa, I was told that this hotel is lucky for U.S. Visa and really my U.S. Visa got approve. So now I also can say that this hotel is Lucky for U.S. Visa. Complementary breakfast also hygienic and tasty with varieties of food and snacks. This is what my experience 100% true. Like other staff Ms. Aman gave us good cooperation.
