My girlfriend and I stayed at The Firefly for two nights in May 2016 and couldn't be more pleased with our experience. We paid a little more to stay in the water bungalow, which had a private outdoor shower along with a deck with chairs and hammock to waste the day away. Even though they are off the grid, the...

From the moment I saw the pictures of the Firefly, I knew I had to stay here. What an idyllic little ocean side paradise, tucked away in a quiet area of the island. We loved it here! THE GOOD BITS: Intimate atmosphere, good food, peaceful, oceanfront, supports and employs the locals, supports ecotourism. STAFF: Lauren was great about responding promptly...

We stayed in the air bungalow for two nights! When we arrived they welcomed us with a rum punch and showed us our room. The air bungalow was amazing, the view was awesome and everything just seemed to be right. The interior of the room and the outside area is perfect. The breakfast in the morning was very good and...

We stayed for 4 nights in in one of the double rooms above the small „pool“. The rooms are decorated nice and the colours are well chosen. We had a private balcony with two chairs and a hammock. After the first impression and excitement the disappointment started. When we arrived we were welcomed by one of the hosts. Me being...

We are sad to hear you didn't enjoy yourself but It seemed that from the beginning, you and your brother wanted something different than what we are. We state very clearly that we are a bnb not a full service hotel. We have a small staff, not a 24 hour staff here to wait on guests.. Our policies are outlined...

I was fortunate enough to spend 3 days here in April. We reserved the highest air bungalow that was magical. The outdoor shower, the comfy bed and the balcony hammock. The staff is warm and welcoming. They even have a welcome greeting just for you upon your arrival. The breakfasts are to die for especially their smoothies (I admit I...

I had never been to an island or even Central America when my boyfriend and I booked The Firefly for 4 nights. After a week in Nicaragua, a layover in PTY, a flight next to the propeller on Air Panama, a taxi, a water taxi and an embarrassing attempt to navigate my rolling suitcase through Basti, I was practically sprinting...

This place is trully amazing. The people here are so nice and the food! Oh my god! Rooms are clean and very nicely decorated. Also love the fact that they are eco and support local people. They just care of the island they live at. We enjoyed our stay to the last bits. Oh and those sunsets!

The Firefly was our third stop out of seven places we're staying at while we are in Bocas. Great ambiance, the rooms are beautiful, the whole place is! We stayed in the air bungalow. The staff is amazing and super helpful. Clarissa our bartender was awesome and super informative about the area. Renee was amazing! He made sure every moment...

Some of the most special vacation experiences I've had in the Caribbean are to places that aren't the easiest to get to. Anegada and Jost Van Dyke in the BVIs, the Out Islands of the Bahamas, Santa Maria, Cuba and Nine Mile, Jamaica are a few that come to mind. Firefly on Isla Bastimentos is now on my list of...

This is a pretty, small, relaxed, well-run place near Bastimentos "town" yet in a tranquil spot by the sea. The rooms are nice with a simple, fresh decor, and most have balconies. The bathroom in our room was a bit small. Friendly and attentive staff. Pretty grounds with a small pool in which to cool off (which we really appreciated)...
