This place is in clear need of some maintenance work. Lonely Planet's description of it as being "grunge" is an understatement. It simply hasn't been maintained. You get breakfast included, except their little stove only has 1, maybe 2 burners that work for the entire hostel, and you have to do the cooking yourself so good luck with that. There...

We came in around 9pm on a Tuesday the place was empty except for 3 guys that were staying at the hostal. Tuesday seemed to be a sead day on the island as a whole. We had a great bartender who made amazing drinks while we were there. Mixed drinks were $3 to $4 each and shots were $2 to...

This place is cool for anyone who likes to party and meet ppl and is traveling on a budget. The rooms are well kept. I liked that they had hammocks. I found this place to be quite laid back and easy going. I liked the crowd. Most ppl I met were pretty cool. A few areas needed some fixing. The...

In Bocas del Toro we had a warm welcome from the staff and the room appeared to look clean. However, we had a room on the second floor of this shed and it had a window (no glass) that was open and had no curtain. I had to get the bed next to this window and there is no privacy...

I first stayed at Mondo in 2008, and back then it was the place to be. The town has changed a lot since then and for several years Mondo seemed left in the dust. However, the new guys are putting a lot of work and love into it. The are cleaning up and fixing up without erasing the years of...

Mondo Taitu is a great place for the fun and adventurous. My girlfriend and I stayed in a private room under the tree house. The outdoor shower is great for rinsing off after the beach. The guests there are really fun and they have the best parties in Bocas! The fact that beers are $1 for guests is awesome. The...

We got a private room as it was the same price for two dorm beds makes sense plus the dorm they put us in had no lockers to offer anyway. The place is just so old and dirty. Bathroom facilities were dirty and no hot water like said. The kitchen is just crap with half melted utensils and frypans with...

If you looking to party in Bocas this is the hostel to stay... From live Gecko shots to life size jinga and loads of cheap beer and even the locals delivering to the door.. Staff are awesome and will make sure you don't get ripped off. We also jumped on a catamaran for a day trip was $25 for like...

Mondo Taitu, may look like one of the many unfinished or unstable buildings throughout Central America but it is really a pretty nice hostel with plenty of character. Facilities are not the best or the prettiest but they certainly do the job. Showers are good and toilets satisfactory. Four person dorm I stayed in was small but not tiny, beds...
