Interesting -- because it was essentially central american in terms of relaxation and good vibes. Mind-expanding -- the experience of breakfast every morning around the kitchen with Jack, Lee and the other guests contributed to a great community feeling with people learning from each other and discovering things to do that you might not normally do. The staircase in the...

Thank you very much for the kind review. We love having guests like you stay with us. We understand 99% of our guests really love their experiences in Bocas and at our properties but its hard to sit back and say nothing when others post negative and untrue comments online and are protected behind the veil of tripadvisor. If more...

Jack is a colorful, dry witted, humourous, individual with vast knowledge of the area. He has great connections with the locals for tours, rentals, meals, etc. And he serves a KILLER breakfast. I understand why this place gets high rating with Trip Advisor for customer service until one encounters a problem, Jack and Lee become VERY defensive. Please read Lee's...

WE ARE NOT A RESORT IN THE TRADITIONAL SENSE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A RESORT WITH RESTAURANT, 24 HOUR DESK STAFF. AND ROOM SERVICE WE ARE NOT WHERE YOU WANT TO BE. We have tried to address this concern in the FAQ section of our web page and it is clear in the trip advisor reviews. We offer private...

Koko Resort is a true gem. Words cannot do this place justice. Jack and Lee are the best. They are funny, helpful, interesting people that you could hang out with and talk to for hours. We looked forward to breakfast every morning with Jack and Lee, and couldn't wait to wake up and chat with them. The cabins were wonderful...

We only stayed for 2 nights on the island and I am very thankful we chose to spend it here. The hotel is ran by a very friendly and helpful couple and from the moment we arrived we received an amazing level of personal service. Over the past 7 years Jack seems to have built up a wide network of...

This place was awesome! My husband and I stayed in Gecko. Jack and Lee are excellent hosts! Breakfasts in the morning were terrific and Jack helped us set up our daily excursions to snorkel, bat caves and hikes. His local connections gave us better prices and a personal touch, knowing our guides had an investment in ensuring we had the...

My husband and I stayed at Koko Resort for 6 days - we really enjoyed the location, the owners who run the business are very helpful and freindly and the breakfast was always new and tasty. We had great weather and the cabins get a sea breeze that made using the airconditioner unnecessary. Other guest were also freindly giving the...

Koko was great! Quiet, away from town. The hosts were helpful in setting up adventures and the provided breakfast was a pleasant bonus. The walk to town was pleasant but taxi service was readilly available if we didn't feel like walking. Highly recomend!

My husband and I stayed at the Orchid, which was nice. Good view. Very spacious. The breakfast was really nice. Pretty close to town (20 min. walk) or $1 cab ride per person. Pretty much exactly what I read online. The walk was a little dirty to the place, but I think it just added personality.

I can't explain how mad this manager made me! I have never had someone LIE to me that BADLY at a business!! Biggest problem: we requested a cabin far out on the water. Its the most expensive, which would have been fine; EXCEPT! She mentioned that it had flooded a bit during "The worst storm" they'd seen this year.. that...

These guests were with us during one of the worst rain storms in years for Bocas Del Toro. The rain and wind screen was not closed on there cabin and water blew in from the upstairs balcony and then down into where their electronics were. Bad luck is all it was. These are cabins built over the ocean and we...

My two brothers and I did some island hopping through Bocas and spent our first 3 nights at Koko Resort. Cabins are perfectly situated over the water, allowing for nice, cool breeze every evening..no need for mosquito netting or closed windows and AC. Aside from surfing at Black Rock break, breakfasts w Jack in the Buena Vista kitchen were highlights...
