Our stay at Playa Bluff Lodge was fantastic. Reinier and Helene are fun, gracious and generous hosts. Reinier has specialized reptile knowledge, which my 19 year old son very much enjoyed discussing. The backyard is landscaped for widelife. When we arrived there were wild slouth in the trees, in addition to the slouth that they saved as an orphan. A... More

The pictures don't do it justice. But with the ocean in your front yard and the jungle in your backyard, how could you go wrong? The hosts were great. The wildlife even better. Sloths, a Toucan, a friendly squirrel, frogs, birds, possums, monkeys, jesus lizards...the list goes on, right in their backyard. What a beautiful place to stay. The food... More

We stayed here last April for a few nights after backpacking trough Costa Rica. Helene and Reinier picked us up downtown in their big truck, from here it's about 30min drive to the lodge. Absolutely great place to relax and enjoy the nature, remote location with your private beach, beautiful garden full with colorfull frogs, toukan and a sloth. Spacious... More

A great spot in the middle of mother nature, captured between jungle in the back and a unspoiled beach up front. Hosted by Reinier and Helene, a stay at Playa Bluff Lodge will be a 'once in a lifetime' experience. We stayed over 5 nights at Playa Bluff Lodge and entertained ourselves with all the animals in the garden, on... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Playa Bluff Lodge for 2 nights. Reinier and Helena (the owners) were very hospitable. We received a nice breakfast in the morning and also a delicious lunch in the afternoon. If we wanted, it was also possible to get dinner. The best part was that it could all be served on the beach or... More

Our hosts met us in Bocas, exactly as arranged, we piled into the big 4x4 and headed for Playa Bluff. It was late in the day but on our arrival Helene showed us around the grounds of their lodge, the poison dart frogs, the rescued toucan and of course their pet sloth, who hangs out in the "rancho". She prepared... More

This is by far the best place we stayed in during our holiday in Panama. We loved the wonderful garden, the spacious room and bed, and we were very impressed by the hosts who manage to combine their family life and the running of their small B&B in sweet harmony. Of course, Playa bluff is ca 30 min from Bocas,... More

I arrived with gf not knowing what to expect...and was very pleasantly surprised- Helene and Renier were fantastic hosts. Wonderful food, gorgeous location, would absolutely go back. The rooms were clean and spacious, but that doesn't really even matter when you consider the fact that you're in paradise so who wants to stay in the room? We were outside most... More

Playa bluff was a really cool place to stay and experience. Helene and Ranier are great hosts and really go out of their way to help you and bring you to/from town. They have created their own eco resort on the beach and in the jungle, very cool. The pet sloth and tucan and frogs were really cool to see... More

Helene, Reinier, Alice, Anouk and Wilders (the friendly sloth) are the warmest and most genuinely kind hearted hosts you could possibly hope to find. If you want a little slice of paradise off the beat and track we couldn't recommend this place more. If you are looking for plenty of holiday action (although great surf spots just 10 minutes walk)... More

“The wifi was not In-Room. You had to be sitting in the restaurant for it to work but it was free. At night time, there didn't seem to be any managers etc on site so I occasionally worried that if something were to arise, I'm not sure we would have had any help...”
