Tiene and Mark and staff are awesome - they are always smiling and up for a beer chat. Mark's a skilled surfer and will hook you up with a board. You can take them up on rides to / from the local beach break which is a lot of fun, or walk about 30 min, or rent scooters with racks....

i spend one week at Dulan 89. Located in the middle of the small town, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The hostel offers a good range of rooms and activities. Surfing, SUP, Windsurf and more. Relaxed atmosphere and nice staff even when most of them are doing "work away" especially a good space for surfers. The Bar on the ground...

Wonderful service! Yoki, Mandy, and Robert were extremely helpful and spoke wonderful English. Their restaurant isn't open in the morning - so I recommend getting breakfast next door at the a place that says extreme tacos and burgers. Great food and Cookie, the owner, is a gem.

We stayed at Wagaligong for 2 weeks and had the best time ever. The peoples are amazing, the food is great and the rooms are very clean and cozy. I wish i'll be able to come over again and super recommend this place.

I planned to stay a couple of nights and ended up staying for 12. Really nice atmosphere, easy access to surf with staff on hand to take you and your board down. Lovely town to chill and relax in, not to far from Taidong

This is probably the funkiest place to stay in Dulan. It is on the main drag and all you need to do is look out for the surfboards out the front. The owner, ex-pat South African Mark is a dynamo of energy and action. He is always willing to share his wide understanding of the local area and Taiwanese culture....

I stayed there 2 years in a row. The place is really relax and the staff super friendly. The food is good and when you don't want to eat asian food it's perfect. Mark is also super helpful for sharing surf spot tips & tricks. If you windsurf too, this is the place to be!

I had a great few days at Wagliagong at the end of October. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm, which was quite basic, but had everything I needed. I was struck by the chilled atmosphere and friendly staff (the Stella Artois on tap and big bottles of Taiwan beer in the fridge certainly helped with this). The place didn't...

Located in a nice quiet town, the people at WaGaLiGong know how to spice things up. We met some very interesting and helpful people here. The staff in particular did a wonderful job helping out any way they could. It would be hard to stay at a different place next time we visit Taiwan.

“Something rather unique about this hostel is the Japanese style room. Also, there are several different private rooms to choose from. It might not be a bad idea to call and ask for the largest one.”

“For families, the private rooms might be better. They have great rooms for couples too. But backpackers looking to save a buck can stay on Watami mats in the Japanese rooms at great value - Dulan's pretty and the people are great, so we didn't spend too much time up in the room anyway!”
