Our stay at Thick Forest was awesome. We arrived when it was quite dark out so couldn't see much coming up. We were greeted by the staff who immediately took our bags and headed off into the darkness. We had a lovely treehouse that was quite a way up in the air. It was so lovely! We had a gorgeous...

We arrived fairly late after a day of climbing Sigiriya, then going to Kaudulla National Park to witness "The Gathering", both spectacular, and must dos when visiting Sri Lanka. We were pretty tried and hungry and our host went to work in the little kitchen cooking up a storm. It was the best authentic meal I had in Sri Lanka...

Worth the experience for one night. Place is definitely in the jungle, no neighbours next door so you can't walk anywhere and if the security light was turned off at night then the only light source would be from the moon! Stayed in the tree house which had a proper ensuite wetroom bathroom with electric shower. Thankfully there was a...

We arrived after a long journey from Trincomalee at 6.30pm having been unable to find the hotel for lack of directions. We were taken to a room next to the dining area. It wasn't a tree house but a 1st storey room. It was stuffy and we didn't want to sleep there. Thankfully the staff were exceptionally helpful and told...

We really loved staying at thick forest. It was a bit like posh camping really with wooden huts suspended high in the trees. It was wonderful t be able to spot our roof tops from the top of sigiriya rock, they really sit alone in the middle of the jungle. We ate here both nights as there is not really...

We spent two nights here and it was a great base to explore the area (we went to Sigiriya rock, Dambulla caves and on safari at Kaudulla National Park - lots of birdlife and elephants, highly recommended). It's a unique place to stay, remote and really is in the middle of the forest. Lots of wildlife, including some very noisy...

I tend to agree with most people here. This is a unique experience. Staying in a treehouse was cool. What suprised me is that the bathrooms in the treehouse was better than some other hotels we stayed in. You can see the Sigiriya rock from the hotel. But I would highly recommend having a mode of transportation to get around...

This hotel is off course not for everyone. You are kind in the jungle, with the best view to the sigiriya rock. The rooms i.e. tree houses are sweet. You have a nice balcony with a great view, a good bed, hot water, new toilet but it is basic and more of a backpacker than mid range and group traveler...

Excellent place where to be to visit Sigiriya, you'll see it right from your cabana, our cabana was really good and confortable, we really enjoy it. The curry was great and not so spicy, the owner gave us many usefull infos about the area, overall really suggested specially for whom love to try somethink different, as we did. If we...

We booked this tree house by accident. We were so shocked or surprised the most we arrived at the entrance: wooded gate, all covered with trees inside. Bad side: It was a little dis-appointment after checking in: really not that good infrastructure. It was tidy and clean, but very small room and need to shower outside…… if you are that...
