The hotel is situated in nice green surroundings with a sounding beautiful river flowing at its back yards. The rooms are pretty clean. The restaurant facing the flowing river and green forest where the elephants can be seen is an added attraction. The minus point is that the main entrance of the hotel is at the end of a small...

Pinnawala is a must see for kids and adults. Elephant Bay Hotel has family rooms, is clean, tidy and friendly. Great place for viewing and feeding the beautiful elephants. Shopping in the main street where elephants come and go is good - many things you won't find elsewhere in Sri Lanka. Riding elephants was a lot of fun especially for...

We stayed here just 1 night, but it was worth it, the elephants come to the river twice a day and come right up to the back of the hotel. Here you can touch them or feed them with bananas and you don't need to pay the entrance fees to see them at the end of the road. There are...

Visited there on the Christmas day of 2014 and ended up being utterly disappointed. Their lunch buffet in that messy restaurant area was terrible, no taste, no variations & above all it was so UNCLEAN out there including the dishes, spoons and all. To make things worse, the staff & the rude management was also pretty careless and not seem...

The hotel is situated on the river and a view of the elephants is possible...BUT not from all the rooms. Better view are from the open fronted eating area..... OR from a bit along the river side. Hotel is clean & tidy although lighting is a bit hit & miss. Staff are friendly, if a bit slow, Food was OK...

The hotel is on Best Location. But Not so clean. They really need to give attention on cleaning of rooms as well as other areas. What one should really go to pinnawala. Food quality is average. We can view elephants in the morning from this hotel.

This larger hotel appears to cater mainly for larger parties, wedding receptions etc. It took them quite a while to let us into our room and even longer (10 pm) for the second room we had booked in advance. The hotel's terrace, which admittedly allows a nice view over the river and the elephant bathing area, was blasted with pretty...

The Elephant Bay hotel is the perfect location to see elephants up close. It is located on a river which is used by the elephants at the nearby orphanage (ie zoo) to wash and bathe twice a day. Sat on the terrace at the hotel you can see the elephants enjoying a bath and they even wander over to hunt...

Seeing the elephant and feeding them was the only joy, where my children very much enjoyed watching and interacting with the elephant. Poor and unclean catering, non working tv, and no comfort beds and pillows. It was the first hotel i stayed in when I arrived to Srilanka, however when I went to different places and hotels I get to...
