We stayed at Kandy cottage for 3 night. The staff is very attentive and arranged a number of things for us like traintickets and tuktuks. They even packed us lunch for one of our trips. The place is clean and has anything a backpackers needs. What is great, is that this place sits at the side of a hill. Effectively...

We stayed at Kandy Cottage for 3 nights and Thomas, the host, was absolutely fantastic, he made the trip. His advice on what to do and what not to do was very helpful, as well as his help with arranging transport, navigating the buses and booking our train tickets. On top of this he was great fun! He made this...

Neither Kandy Cottage - and Kandy city itself - quite lived up to our expectations, and we were quite happy to move on to Ella after our two nights' stay here. However, I'll try not to be too negative in this review, as the property has a lot of very positive reviews. Room - quite basic room given the price...

Kandy cottage was a great place to stay, to a large extent because Thomas, our host, was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. He walked with us into the city centre so we knew where to go and how to get back, bought beers for us before May Day holiday etc. Breakfast was good and a lovely atmosphere at the cottage.

We stayed here 2 night with 2 small children. The family room was perfect: one double bed and a bunk bed for the kids. Mosquito nets are provided although there weren't many mosquitos. Rooms are pretty basic, but it kind of adds to the charm. He Property is clean and had everything we needed. Thomas the manager was very nice...

We were so fortunate to come across Kandy cottage. Thomas the manager is wonderful and it's worth staying there just to meet Thomas. He really looked after us. Our room was fabulous. Location brilliant, just 15 mins from town and very quiet backing onto forest reserve. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Thomas is the host and he is the best. The place is centrally located but hard to find. Carry the phone number. The breakfast was wonderful and the beds comfy. It is relaxed and has a good feeling in terms of the ambiance. Dogs bark in the night but that was the only drawback. Loved it.

From the moment we got there we couldn't have felt more at home. Thomas was extremely helpful and great to chat with over a nice cup of tea! From walking us to the city on our first day and pointing us in the direction of shops etc to organising tuk tuks, packing lunches for day trips and even organising tuk...

This was our first stop on a 3 week travel through Sri Lanka. We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. It is a tranquil place away from the city heat, noise and dust, but still at only a walking distance from the city centre, with only the noises from the jungle and, occasionally, from the two house dogs....

Kandy was our first stop and after a horrible overnight flight from Mumbai and a long car journey it was so nice to be greeted with such warm hospitality at Kandy Cottage. Prior to our stay I had experienced very positive and helpful email correspondence with Tobi the manager who helped us with arranging our transfer from Colombo airport and...
