I love this place. It was my second stay here and I loved every minute. The hotel and the views are fantastic and the service is outstanding. Volker and his staff are incredibly attentive and personable - they make you feel at home and go above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay. And... the food is...

Villa Rosa is run by a European who clearly wants to create a casual and comfortable environment for his guests. His staff couldn't be more accommodating and it's like being in a private home. There isn't a lot to do there but for a day or two of relaxation, it is just the ticket. Walk the beach in front of...

Villa Rosa is a very special place with a fantastic view. Volker is a really welcoming host and gives you helpful information to make the most of your stay. Nothing is too much trouble and his staff are excellent. The food is fantastic and the rooms are beautifully presented. We wish we could have stayed longer !

Villa Rosa is a special place for special people - and we are proud that for so many years we could share the experience to live in this country with our guests in a way that is still appreciated by the guests. From the beginning many years ago we offered more than just accommodation and food - and despite growing...

This place was pretty amazing. The Villa is not huge by a long shot - maybe 10 rooms tops in 2 buildings so you have a pretty intimate feel. The owner Volker is a great host and interesting to talk to. There are also a few house dogs which are also great company. We had both breakfast and dinner at...

Yes, we have 10 rooms, 3 dogs and the place is only 2,5 km away from town but away from the hussle and bussle of Kandy, overlooking the Maheweli River, the big river of Sri Lanka! Your driver has to make a little effort to find the place, but there are sign boards once you come closer to Villa Rosa....

Unfortunately we only spent one night at Villa Rosa - our first night in Sri Lanka before catching the Kandy to Ella train. We arrived tired after our flight and the drive from Colombo but the journey was soon forgotten when we arrived and checked in. It is a beautiful house with a breathtaking view and comfortable rooms. The team...

Normally we have a minimum stay of 2 nights - but there are exceptions. To discover a bit of Kandy you need at least one full day, means 2 nights, better 3 nights. Explore and relax is our motto. Don't be too ambitious as far as traveling in the country is concerned. Less is sometimes more.

I fell in love with this special place. The villa itself is beautiful, tastefully furnished, nestled into the hills. The view is stunning. You eat your breakfast looking out over the forest and river below. We watched a monkey one morning swing past, and a wild boar in the grasses one evening. The rooms are pretty, spacious and clean, with...

Yes there is a dress code for the temple. We provide scarves and sarongs so that you are well equipped once you go out - but about refusing to let the lady in because of this slit in her dress I was also surprised. Please come again and tell all your friends to come and have at least a break...

Superb views greet you as soon as you step through the gates of this beautiful hotel situated on one of the hills looking down upon the river that winds around Kandy. The owner is welcoming and the staff attentive. If you want to learn how they prepare the tradtional sri lankan dishes they welcome you into their kitchen. Short 2km...

Volker and his staff run an amazing property... They all have a real passion for making your stay special. The rooms are magnificent, the food superb (you can even talk with the chef) and you have views over a river valley that are stunning - 5 star all round. Would recommend to anyone.

I arrived to an upgraded room with a balcony that gave me spectacular views. The villa itself is like an upmarket house, beautifully designed with the views of the hills and valleys optimised everywhere. The staff are wonderful, Volke (the owner) has an amazing team with all of the staff on hand to make your stay extra special. The food...
