The hotel is well located near to The Tooth Temple an and Lake. It looks grand from the outside and even when you step into the lobby. However, the rooms are a disappointment and sleep quality is poor. My comments relate to our room which was booked by a tour agent and unfortunately faced the road (and lake). I think...

I got the room at a cut rate and I must say it was underwhelming. I appreciated the central location as well as the AC in my room but the hotel was fairly run down, with a kettle that didn't plug in to the wall correctly and a fixtures that could definitely be replaced. The outside of the hotel is...

We stayed at the Queens Hotel in Kandy for one day on our very first vacation to beautiful Sri Lanka. The hotel is truly a beautiful colonial pearl within a short walk of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. When we entered the hotel from the busy streets of Kandy, we were welcomed by the smiling staff to the sound...

The best thing about this hotel is its very central location in Kandy, just across the road from the Temple of the Tooth, close to the lake, and close to shops and banks. It is, however, on a corner and the traffic noise can be a problem in some rooms. I had a single room in the "West Wing", which...

Either you love this hotel or you hate it. You love it when you like the old English colonial style. The elevator, the creaking wooden floors, the ill fitting doors, the wonderful windows that expose you mercilessly to the outside traffic noise, the magnificent entrance and the glorious dining room. You hate it when you look into the totally outdated...

This is in an excellent situation for Kandy Centre and just opposite the Temple of the Tooth Relic. We were ok noise wise but I guess it can be noisy with traffic. WiFi is good. The breakfast was ok with a reasonable selection. Lunch was variable. The customer service is excellent. It is good to stay in an old hotel...

I booked this hotel after having stayed at similar hotel from the era in the UK, i.e. The Grand in Brighton and found it an interesting comparison. The hotel has not been heavily modernized and from that perspective gives a better impression of what Victorian hotels were like. The rooms we had were still their original size, very large with...

Queens hotel is a pearl that is falling apart. The hotel is old English vintage style and has been a 5 star hotel last century. Sadly is it falling apart. The renovations is done without respect, the staff is lazy and the food is average. It is a pity - with a small effort and a good management the hotel...

The hotel prides itself on being a historical establishment, with original design, style and details (e.g. elevator) still very much emphasised. And it does truly feel that you are stepping back at least 100 years as you walk down the corridor towards your room or listen to the live piano at your elegant dinner, so the experience is truly a...
