We stayed for one night with the main purpose of visiting Temple of Tooth (Dalada Maligawa). It was easy because we just have to cross the road, without worrying parking, carrying bags and safety, etc. We got a room in the first floor facing Temple of Tooth. Though wooden floored room was old it was well maintained and clean. There...

One of the best hotels i ever visited in Kandy.. The colonial touch can be seen each and every where in the hotel. We just came to the hotel only for a one night stay.. The lake view from the room is beautiful. The rooms are spacious but need a bit of renovation. The front office staff is very helpful.Special thanks...

We, a group of 39 people, from Udaipur, India stayed at the Queens Hotel, Kandy on 28-02-2017 and checked out on 01-03-2017. We had a classic and colonial feel at the hotel. It was a comfortable stay. Some of us were vegetarians who had some issues of non vegetarian fumes and feels. However, the staff at every front was quite...

We stayed in a standard room, the room was spacious, The bathroom is very basic, the towels need to be replaced with a better quality, we had breakfast at the hotel and found the food not up to the standard as the other hotels we had stayed at. The plus side is that the hotel is very central to all...

The Queen's Hotel in Kandy is a place with a long history dating back to the middle of the 19th century. Its white painted facade has, in many ways, represented the face of this town to the outside world. Its interior is still resplendent with colonial era symbols such as creaking wooden floors, a large high ceilinged entrance area, an...

The Queen's Hotel, located in the heart of Kandy, is a true hold-over from Sri Lanka's Colonial past. Replete with a grand entrance, high ceilings, large chandeliers in the sparkling lobby, a large wooden staircase leading to the upper floors, (and painfully slow elevators), the place takes one back to how one would have imagined it the turn of the...

Fantastic location in central Kandy. We loved the historical photos and atmosphere of the hotel, but it is crying out for a tasteful refurb: - eg we had a 1970s cheap polystyrene stud ceiling tiles in the bathroom; where these had started to fall down you could see the original plaster cornicing ceiling that looked amazing. My advice is -...

We stayed for one night at the Queens Hotel in Kandy. The hotel is located right in the heart of the city and can hardly be topped in terms of its centrality being right next to the Temple of the Tooth and the Kandy lake. You can easily reach everything by walking around the city, which makes it very pleasant....

An old and cosy hotel with big rooms. The rooms are pretty worn out and did not look that clean (our bathroom was not that nice...). We stayed in a big corner room in the beginning, but the hotel is placed right in the biggest traffic junction, so after one night with not much sleet, we changed our room for...

Queens has real charm albeit slightly faded with its Colonial history and excellent location opposite the lake, Tooth Temple, etc. Plumbing is a bit Victorian but works. The dining room is also an experience but good value, as are the rooms. Decent swimming pool.
