Lovely room with balcony and great views. Communal seating area on each floor. Friendly and helpful staff, good wifi. Approximately a 15 minute walk down the hill and alongside the lake in to the centre of Kandy. There are plenty off tuk tuks and taxis if you don't fancy the walk. We didn't eat at the hotel as breakfast wasn't...

First, in terms of the location, the hotel is just a touch out of the way. However, that means that the area is a little bit mellower. As the name suggests, it's on a hill. The hotel has two entrances, which makes it a bit more convenient. The one along the bottom gets you to Kandy lake in about 8...

My father and I checked in later in the evening at 9pm and told them that we wanted to go for a drink at Helga's Folly down the street and were told that we needed to be back by 10pm and then they pushed it back to 10:30pm. I don't think I have ever been given curfew from a hotel...

After hotel hopping in Kandy for a few nights I found that Amanda Hills offered the best hotel facilities for the price range. I was looking for a hotel away from the noise of the inner city yet within walking distance and this is perfect. My room comes with a balcony (no view), good sized bedroom with overhead fan and...

We stayed here for 2 nights late October. The room was nice and clean and staff seemed friendly. The included breakfast was really good - pot of tea, pancakes, omelette, toast, fruit, hoppers, coconut sambol and Dahl. The only down side to this hotel was they didn't sell beer. It is a pleasant walk along the lakeside to Kandy centre...

Although this hotel is up a steep hill ( need a tuk tuk 200 rupees) and you need to climb up 3 or 4 flights of stairs, it is well worth making the effort! The people working here can't do enough to help and will also give you good advice on how to get to places. Jude the manager will...

We had a good stay a Amanda hills, we were the only guest there and perhaps it's a bit overpriced. But the staff were really helpful and nice. Breakfast wasn't included but was great. Very nice view from the upstairs balcony. Remember to eat at Sharon inn next door.

We were worried about staying in a room without A/C as the weather was very warm but the fan was powerful and the room was spacious. The wifi did not work for the entirety of our stay but we think this may have been a problem in the area. We had a pleasant stay. The room had everything we needed...

“Lake facing rooms are spacious. There is no difference in an ac or non ac room except tht the ac remote will not be provided for non ac rooms. Also, in march frst week it was pretty cool so no use of ac rooms. Also the ac rooms are 1.8 times non ac room. so go for a non ac room if going till Mar. we occupied two rooms 301 n 303 for the same cost. while 303 was lake facing n spacious, 301 was small with no view of lake.”
