The stay at Plantation Villa was one of my best vacations ever. Very relaxing and calm atmosphere with beautiful nature and very friendly staff. The food was amazing and despite being a meat-lover I had no problem with eating vegan for 10 days; I believe the reason is that the food contains everything you need and so you will not...

I arrived at the Plantation Villa after a month's volunteering and a two week tour in Sri Lanka. I came with the objective of fully relaxing in a truly healthy and rural environment. I wanted the experience to compliment the rest of my holiday and it did, completely! I was collected from Galle by the Plantation Villa taxi (which I...

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They made our stay in this beautiful location really great. The whole concept is all about getting a break from consumption and get our mind a moment of rest. The treatment are good (although had no serious problems) and weather you have a issue to treat or you just go to relaxe, Ayurveda...

After a crazy week in Colombo I decided to take the train from Colombo Fort to Kalutara South and spend a few days in the peace and quiet of Plantation Villa. What an amazing experience. The retreat is in the middle of the jungle and monkeys and chipmunks and busy chasing around and picking the fruits from trees. You really...

This place has little to do with authentic ayurveda, the reality is not in line with the advertisement and the plantation villa is not suitable for people with a medical condition. I will explain why below. The reason why I came to the plantation villa (PV) is because I am sufferig from a burn-out. Before I booked I explained my...

I stayed for 2 weeks, on the detox package which includes 2 yoga classes a day and an hour of treatments (half hour massage + steam bath + face pack). I booked having seen rave reviews on trip advisor and wanted to write a more balanced account... For me, the best thing was the food, especially breakfast (fresh fruit, rostis,...

Dear Sally Thank you for your honest feedback. I am so sorry that you felt disappointed with your stay and that we did not live up to your expectations. We are very different from a 'holiday resort' where there is alot of activities and things to do...or even a 'spa resort' where one can have a relaxing holiday and use...

We stayed for 7 days (full ayurveda package) in this beautiful property. The houses and garden is well cared for by the lovely staff. Food is delicious (and/or healthy ;)) and we liked the communal dinner hall as we had the luxury of meeting some great people. The treatments are nice, though therapists skill vary. We had 3 days of...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A 100 year old property owned by the then chief of the village and 'govi raja' - Paddy King, an honour bestowed by the government. This property has now been expanded upon to create a nature health resort. The hotel is a specialist Ayurveda / Yoga retreat with 8 rooms set amidst a 30 acre plantation of Rubber, Coconut, Cinnamon, Black Pepper and numerous vegetation, fruit trees and paddy fields. The guest experiences are personalised - each guest will be met by an Ayurvedic Doctor on the first day of their arrival who will plan their diet and ayurveda treatment plans which will be administered during their stay. Majority of the food served to guests come from our own organic gardens surrounding the hotel and daily yoga classes will be conducted to compliment their therapies. Treatments range from general relaxation / destress or detox to the cure or prevention of paralysis, cancer, piles etc. Whilst most guests come for just a relaxing experience or to loose weight or detox, we have had some guests with serious illnesses. Additionally, cookery classes, meditation classes and day trips are organised to allow guests to experience life in rural Sri Lanka. ... more   less
