We booked a room via airbnb. There were a few nice pictures of the Hotel with view of the sea. And what we got. A room in the basement. It was terrible. There was a "window" and we unfortunately opened it. There was a wall by half meter from the window. This was the nice view. But the worst part... More

This is a great location but is ten years past needing a complete refurbishment. In the rooms our group had there was a strong smell of sewage in the bathroom and dirty taps and fittings. Nice basic balcony but one where we had drinks had a dangerously unstable wall. Reception was regularly unmanned, but in fairness the staff and manager... More

This hotel was in need of some refurbishment. The room we were allocated had frayed furnishings and a rather tatty curtain that didn't even cover the window when it was drawn! The cleanliness of the room was somewhat disappointing and the en-suite bathroom looked tired. The steps down to the hotel from the access road are a bit of a... More

Stayed here for one night in July 2012 while waiting for another pre-booked apartment to become available. Even though only staying for one night we felt very welcomed by the staff. The room was equipped with a nice balcony overlooking the bay. Be advised that the noise from terrible hotel Plaza next door sometimes can be a pain (they are... More

When you see "Vila Aleksandar" you would expect some villa charm, - this is not the case. Yes, it is beautiful building with restaurant at walkway directly at the sea. But the rooms give feeling of cheap accommodation for high prices. Cheap because the carpets were really used with dark stains, the bathrooms where not renovated for last 10 years,... More

There are almost no tourists in Herceg Novi in January, so the hotel was very quiet and may be quite different in summer, but I loved its friendly atmosphere and location between the one-way street that runs through the middle of Herceg Novi and the sea. The Vila Aleksandar is down a small side road which descends from the main... More

We found ourselves with a couple of days in Herceg Novi and, having discovered that Hotel Aurora had closed [probably down], I insisted that the Eastbourne / Brighton tactic of walking along the seafront until you see something inviting would pay off. And luckily it did. Hotel Vila Aleksandar is situated right on the seafront with the prom running between... More

My partner was staying in this "hotel" for a week, so I called him a few times to his room. Each time I called the reception. The first time I called (it was about 11 p.m.) someone picked up and said they cannot transfer the call, since it's hotel's restaurant. Then I said: fine, give me the phone number of... More
