The Royal Horizon Baobab is frequently celebrated for its immaculate condition, with guests frequently commending the spotless rooms and beautifully kept gardens. Patrons consistently experience the warmth and attentiveness of the staff, enriching their stay. While the hotel's amenities receive accolades, particularly for the food and gardens, some concerns are raised about room maintenance. Guests find the excursions offered to be good value for money, yet there are occasional comments about understaffing and room quality. The atmosphere at the hotel is often described as vibrant and welcoming, with professional entertainment contributing to a laid-back vibe, though some suggest the rooms, especially the bathrooms, could benefit from modernization.

We went to Senegal for the first time and it was a large complex for us and All Inclusive, we had our doubts.
But once we arrived everything was well organised, although it is a larger complex than we are used to on holidays, but you hardly notice it when you are in the holiday mood. The houses on the beach are fine, air conditioning, good bed and within 3 steps you are on the beach and in front of your house you have 2 sunbeds with a fixed parasol. The food is delicious and there is always something you like on the buffet tables. You can eat ala carte once and that is fine too. The hotel also offers that you can eat langustine once for an additional fee, which is more than fine. It is a great resort for 1 week in Senegal and an excellent location for undertaking various excursions.

If you want to sit quietly, take a house from series 15-**, these are quietly located, we had the house in the 19-** series (at the back)

There is one downside, we did not always find the cocktails very tasty, cocktails at the bar near reception are the best and of consistent quality
And oh yes, the coffee at breakfast hmmm, it wasn't the best either, but later we went to the pool bar and got some nice coffee from fresh beans there.

I had a wonderful stay at this Pension. The staff was very attentive, the animators very pleasant, the room was impeccable and very quiet. The meals were varied and delicious. I enjoyed the excursions planned by kappa with exceptional guides I highly recommend this property. Senegal will remain a destination that will remain etched in my memory because the population is welcoming and touching.

Great stay at the Royal Horizon baobab hotel. First of all, a hotel with an incredible view. Very clean complex (room, common area, etc.), very well maintained and magnificently planted with trees and flowers.
Extremely kind, caring and helpful employees. A quality buffet, varied and prepared for certain dishes before your eyes. The drinks are all prepared with mineral water, even the ice cubes. Very good entertainment team, notably Issa. For excursions, don't hesitate to go see Jean Claude (little green and blue hut) on the beach next to the hotel's children's club and the water sports area. He can prepare outings for you according to your desires and needs and will help you discover his country that he loves so much.
Magnificent, unforgettable trip. Everything was perfect.

We have resided at the Royal Baobab since August 18 and end of stay on August 23.
We are really disappointed because when we arrived we got stuck in the bathroom twice!
For all meals there are not enough staff to do the work.
Every morning at breakfast since our arrival we have to take our cups and towels ourselves because despite our requests with the staff they are overwhelmed!!
I stayed 2 times at the Riu Baobab and frankly this is the best Pension we could do in the area.
We wanted to test this one but I know we will not come back and I will not recommend it to anyone.
There is not a good value Award , the quality of the products is not enough in our opinion!!

This is a hotel that we have been frequenting for many years; our last stay was in November 2019.
We just spent two weeks in November at 3908 and like some people we no longer recognize this place
The behavior of certain servers,
The systematic reservation of the best located tables for regulars, tables inaccessible even if unoccupied because RESERVED!!!
The deckchairs taken by storm at dawn, because sarongs are left there at night...
The rudeness of the rich locals arriving en masse at the weekend….
A director impervious to any discussion…
The dilapidated rooms, very tired bedding
The odious behavior of the 2 female receptionists towards our Senegalese goddaughter not from the serial, whom we had invited for €42 per day, shocked her as well as us...
And to say that it is the country of Terranga🇸🇳
A joke ?
Stop putting up signs informing you of the removal of towels on the deckchairs, no one cares!
Fortunately the gardens are magnificent and well maintained by passionate gardeners….
For massages, don't hesitate... the Africa Queen wellness salon... the team is amazing👍
This is our feeling!

Very nice club
Nice beach
Rough seas watch out for strong currents
We like the typical huts nice room
But very small shower room
Delicious and varied catering
A real pastry chef 🧑‍🍳 excellent desserts
Very nice animation team
Nice shows in the evening
Very nice staff and little care everywhere
Beautiful environment
Beautiful well-kept gardens
Beautiful facilities for activities
Security team on the beach and in hotel

Walks offered by the hotel s animation team several times a week in the surroundings and free and supervised by an animator
Very nice.
A pretty little village close to the hotel

Cons:
Small shower room
No or little storage
You can shower and pee and brush your teeth at the same time
Not a real all in
Alcohol and drinks
Some cocktails are prepared in advance in plastic bottles
And strangely
Pina colada Without alcohol 😳
A detail but good...
The juices are unfortunately not fresh

Otherwise really nice hotel and the lagoon is splendid

I recommend it.

Hotel location: Very good, not far from a local market and well away from other hotel complexes, which makes it quite unique.

Catering: Difficult to find a fault... The dishes change every day, the choice is very varied, there really is something for everyone, from morning to evening. The servers are attentive and attentive.

Animation: A very pleasant, warm, welcoming, motivated and qualified team. One more point for the Kappa Club team which offers truly qualitative excursions, in full immersion, perfect for discovering places and Senegalese people outside the hotel.

Room: Like a small cabin by the water, atypical and far from a large seaside resort hotel. Impeccable air conditioning, very good housekeeping and services as well.

Negative point: Only if one must be said! Wifi. It is available in common areas only (restaurants, swimming pool, reception, etc.) and remains at a fairly low flow rate. That said, it's certainly different from our habits, but when we're on vacation it's perhaps not essential :)

We had one of our best trips and it was largely thanks to the Royal Baobab.

Restaurant with excellent choice and very clean despite everything a turista at the time of departure super for the flight
Avoid garden rooms we have a first communicating room and we have had conversations in Czech from 6am as if they were talking next to our bed about the change of room by an identical but non-communicating room
This room was identical except that the toilet installed in the latter whose bathroom was as mediocre as the previous one, was fixed to the wall so in the background of the blow once seated but shoulders touched the wall s and yet I am not a bodybuilder I let you imagine the rest of the operations
Yet we have friends who for the same price had a very large room with large separate toilet shower separate dressing room don a lottery to award these last sums very disappointed
in summary hotel in need of a great refreshment and a competent architect to rethink the bathrooms
for the positive
adorable staff everywhere including at home
pleasant setting
If I go back, I have to take a room with feet in the water +500 EURO about to be sure I have something correct

First time for us in Senegal. We were enchanted by the royal baobab with a room "feet in the water", a real happiness to lie down and get up to the sounds of the waves. The Hotel is really very clean and well maintained, green and flowery. The staff is also very nice. A special mention to the team at the beach grill restaurant, where we spent great times at lunch. Congratulations to them! We eat very well.
A nod also to Max from the main restaurant for his humor and kindness, as well as to Ousmane from the kappa club that accompanied us on cultural outings.
We chose to make our other excursions with Senegal Excursion which we warmly recommend, it is a small family business with a big heart, which offers excursions at a good price and in small group. They shared some of their culture with us with joy and kindness, moreover they come to pick us up in front of the hotel and are punctual only happiness! Do not hesitate to contact them

We are coming for the 8th time and so far with great pleasure.
Having booked and paid directly at the hotel for our stay 1 year in advance in order to have a specific room, we did not get it.
We found ourselves in block 43. Room having lived too much. Presence of mold in the bathroom. Impossible to turn off the air conditioning.
Expressing our dissatisfaction to the replacement of the reservations manager and seeing her arguments (the allocation of rooms is done the day before for the next day and that's how it happens here).
We told him we won't come back again. There's no problem, she replied. What a shame from a person with responsibilities in the hotel.
This year, we have noticed a clear loss of speed in certain services provided by the establishment.
A reduction in the catering and repetitive offering for a 3-week stay.
Zen swimming pool: 50 deckchairs, some of which are in poor condition, for only 10 parasols, half of which are HS and patched up with strips of fabric.
The person responsible for installing the equipment, dedicated and very kind, “transferred” for obscure reasons.
Zen pool bar: The 2 waiters, who have been in place for years and who kept this place alive, have been transferred to the Tefess bar, replaced by young people who are more interested in their cell phones than in their work.
Smile optional and each time the impression of disturbing them.
Recurring problem since we came, poor quality WIFI throughout the hotel and still non-existent in the rooms.
The icing on the cake is obviously the increase in prices. 52% between 2022 and 2023. €75 in 2022 and €114/pers. in 2023 and €120 in 2024 (+60%).
BE CAREFUL, the idyllic setting and lush vegetation are not everything. The number of unhappy customers is increasing day by day.

For us the mass is said and a break in this establishment is essential. We are waiting to see how this hotel will evolve.
