Back to Baia Mare this year for a family wedding and always welcomed so warmly by the staff at Hotel Carpati. Never anything too little or too large they will try their best to make your stay the most comfortable. Spotless hotel, rooms large and comfortable, totally accommodating for those from Ireland and England that like their black tea with milk !!! my parents love returning every year with us. perfect location short walk from centre of old town. Don't bother looking anywhere else - just book here!
Hotel was a convenience stop midway for us while driving North. Not particularly inspiring decor- was like stepping back in time with so much chrome and pastels. Room was clean and functional. And front desk staff helpful.
Very good, clean and nice rooms. The hotel is close to center and have a nice view (next to him a small river). They offer full services if you need a business meetings and presentation . The food is excelent as well as the service of the employers.
Both, hotel and restaurant, offers very good services. Restaurant serves traditional romanian but also international dishes and drinks. Hotel Carpati is located and the right bank of Sasar river in a quiet area . Baia Mare and the city´s surroundings will make to come back again.
Confortable hotel close to the city center. Good breakfast and coffee. Guests probably are smoking on the terasse of the room, smoke smell is in the room as well. Clean and nice bathroom with hairdryer.
The hotel is very clean, the rooms are very big, the design is “a little too much” for my taste but all in very good condition. The beds are comfortable, towels and sheets white and the floor clean. The food is fresh cooked, tasty and the prices resonable. Staff is incredible kind, five stars for them.
This is an old hotel with depressing rooms and terrible bathrooms (if you can call it like so). In my case my room was infested by mosquitoes. Very unpleasant and ugly decoration. When mentioned about the mosquitoes to the staff they answered who in our group was supposed to pay for the rooms. Really sad. Much better off to look for a home style pension than to stay here. Romania is a lovely country but still has a very loooooong way to go about tourism
We spent one night here and overall experience was below average and if I am again in this charming town of Baia Mare with its picturesque toy old centre - I would choose a different hotel. The rooms in Carpati are 'cold' with no ambiance (as well as public areas), the ladies from housekeeping made a lot of noise and unceremoniously tried to penetrate the rooms when you are in, packing bags before check-out. Lady at reception was unexperienced and could not accept card payment (several attempts with different cards). But they have a cosy cafe with bar stand facing the canal where we liked the service.
Hotel Carpati is a perfect hotel forastay in Baia Mare. It has a quiet location near the centre of the old city along the canal. The rooms are comfortable with airco and TV and a good bathroom. The breakfast is complete. The kitchen is good for a reasonable price. The drinks are really cheap. 0,5 liter of the tastefull URSUS beer only for around 1 euro. sometimes live music too in the restaurant.
We stopped at the Carpti Hotel for 2 nights stay, during a 12 days road trip. The room we got on the second floor, was very large and relaxing, facing the river. Many English speaking channels on TV, and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, and the service most friendly. Since we saw no diners at the hotel restaurant, we preferred to have dinner at the next door restaurant, loved it and returned the next evening, since the hotel was busy with many prom guests. Front desk service was friendly.
