Hotel Hacienda Majoro, a single floor hotel, was built in the 19th Century as an Augustine convent. In the early 20s it became a Pima cotton hacienda and its land was expropiated in 1968 with the Agrarian Reform. The previous owners converted the old hacienda building into a hotel in 1980. The present owner bought it in 2004 including 60 acres of land where tara trees (caesalpinea spinoza), cactus and grapes are grown. The hotel contains a vast collection of Peruvian art, it also has a pisco cellar and a Planetarium.

We wondered what we were getting into as our bus headed down a narrow, rough dirt road to a walled off property with a closed gate. Once we got inside the gate we discovered a beautiful old hotel with lovely grounds, swimming pools and gardens. The rooms were old fashioned but v

This lovely old hacienda near Nazca has very good facilities, spacious lounges full of antiques and a beautiful large pool. I would have liked to spend more time there. Rooms are spacious if rather old fashioned and the wifi works in some rooms, but not others. The food at bre

Dear Guest I'm sorry to learn you were in such a rush and could not spend more time at Majoro. Yes, the rooms are old fashion deliberatly since I want to transport you to the XIX Century when the premisses were built. I'm totally distressed that you were disapointed with our food. I'll have to do something about it but it is so difficult to make everybody happy.

It's a quiet location but a bit out of town. Very nice setting. Reception were friendly and the room was a good size and had small bath! Lovely warm water. Hard bed but bearable. Breakfast could have been better.

Situated in a beautiful estate, this must have been a great hotel a couple of decades ago, but now getting quite dated and seedy. No WiFi or TV in rooms. Quite spacious but nothing works as it should. Breakfast OK, restaurant not tried but it would be a long walk to anything

Dear Guest, thank you for your comments but I must say you are mistaken with some of them. It is true that we are aprox 10 kms. away from the center of town, yes, we have no TVs in rooms, it is our policy not to have them, we offer our guests solace and tranquility, but we do have free wifi in all the areas of the hotel, and if you like walking, we offer to our guests a 4 km walking circuit that will take you through our tara plantation that sorrounds our property.

This hotel would have been difficult locate if I were on my own. However, once you get there its amazing. The hacienda style rooms are small, no TV or AC...but that is the goal of the hotel. It is very comfortable, very pretty, has pools, llamas and alpacas. You wake up to the s

Dear guest, I'm happy to learn you found us! Yes, we have no TV's or AC in rooms, I want our guest to be transported back to the XIX century. All the rooms have different sizes, some can be very large, and some others are not so. I'm glad to learn you enjoyed waiking up with the sounds that nature provides.
