We came directly to the Wachuma from Lima - via flight to Cusco - transfer taxi to Ollantatambo - PeruRail to AC. The Wachuma provided the place to rest before we headed out to MP. We then spent one more night - as insurance against bad weather at MP that we did not need. Changed our return PeruRail ticket to...

We stayed here as part of a group tour. Of course you don't need to spend much time in the hotel as you are spending a lot of time visiting one of the best places in your whole life! But if you're staying longer than a couple of days it is quite limited. We had a good breakfast and there...

Hotel Wachuma is located very close to the train station. We knew that accommodation in Aguas Calientes was overpriced and Wachuma is no difference. It is in a similar price to all the other hotels in Aguas Calientes. It seems to be run by an older lady who has limited english in her vocabulary, but she was sweet nonetheless. She...

I was told all places are having a problem due to all the rain.....that doesnt make any sense as why would hot water heaters have any effect from the rain...only thing I can think of was the power was out for some hours....

It may sound fun in this town but hot water in our room did not show up. The same happend to wifi. They even did not have a printer to peint out our Macchu Pichhu gtickets. The only positive side was a clean room.

I agree with reviewer's comments: close to Machu Picchu bus/train station, clean room with wifi and Direct TV, small, simple room with some back alley noises, early breakfast was most accommodating. But we found that while the young English-speaking desk clerk tried to help (albeit some poor misinformation) and the woman (owner?) was mostly pleasant, the older pony-tailed guy was...

If you don't want to pay a lot and just need a room to crash in before MP, stay here. Positive: Room was clean, shower was hot, host was nice, they pick you up from train, and they hold onto your luggage. Great location very close to train station and MP bus. Negative: Room is tiny and a little noisy...

We stayed here for one night before taking the 5:30am bus to Machu Picchu. We were given room 201 and it was dirty. The shower had mold in it and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The sheets on the beds had stains and our room just felt dirty. Our showers were hot and we slept...

Stayed here with my gf. We enjoyed the room that comes with Direct TV and free wifi. Also included was breakfast and we appreciated how we had to get up at 5am and the lady of the house was already cooking for us because she knew we had to get to the bus to go up to Macchu Picchu.

“Good location”

“Don't stay in the right side door on Lobby floor unless you're ok with the lobby tv being on whenever and with your bathroom window open to it. We asked for another room and were switched with little hesitation. Top floor/roof open so colder but probably best spot if you can handle the stairs.”

“Room 201 was very dirty.”

“Ask for highest room - you will have a great view of the mountains - rather look at the traveller photos and not the professional photos on booking.com - the traveller photos are a lot more accurate. Have a lot of cash - no one in this town accepts credit card and even if they have a machine, it is "broken" - this excuse was used in at least 5 different places we went to.”

“since the room was $70 dollars per night for 3 people it was exactly what I thought. just a place to rest.”
