Warm friendly welcome when you first arrive and that stays throughout your stay. All the staff including reception, house keeping and security care about you and your stay and offer a really friendly service. The hotel is very clean and well equipped. The food is excellent and offers a real taste of Nigeria. The pool is clean and wonderful to swim in and relax. The hotel is in a safe area of Lagos and is an ideal base to explore the city. Taxis are very helpful and a good price can be fixed before you start you day exploring. Hotel cope's well with the power cuts and happy to resolve any issue to make your stay memorable.

Lagos is quite a stressful place to be especially when you have meetings and you get stuck in unpredictable traffic, after a day like this the best if not the ONLY thing you need is a stress-free, quite, friendly environment, I highly recommend CitiLodge Hotel, if you know what I mean.
Neat rooms, respectful, caring and friendly staff and to top it all very moderate costs considering their location.
Once I am in Lagos again, CitiLodge is my 1st choice, cheers to them.

This hotel appears to be one of many failing Nigerian hotels. The rooms are small and run down. A lot of the things on the menu were unavailable. The area isn't very good. The staff is very nice and good at making the beat of a bad situation.

Slbmcp, thank you for your comments which has really triggered a lot of reaction. In direct response management of the hotel has been changed in January 2012. You are quite right that we had issues with food, I am pleased to advise that the new management has restructured the F & B department and we have started receiving positive responses from our guests. With regards to the rooms, I must say that we have four categories of rooms and having checked our records I observed that you booked one of the lower categories. Please be informed that we have more spacious rooms and indeed the size of our rooms have never been in issue. It is delighting to note however, that you appreciated the warmth of our staff and their professionalism. We thank you for this and promise that your next visit will be a positive and more rewarding experience. Thank you for your time and for correcting us. I assure you that ours is a listening organisation.

Citilodge is budget-friendly (5star rating for price & location)
However, quality of food isnt great @all + my items got missing. I reported but never got them back. Also, roaches here &there.

So 1. Buy food elsewhere. 2. Keep 2 extra eyes on all your stuff. 3. Bring insecticide

I couldn't quite match up the reality of this hotel with the sparkling reviews of Trip Advisor. A shabby establishment with poorly renovated rooms and all the ambience of a prison. The location was the only redeeming feature.

Dear Matthew W Thank you so much for your comments on our hotel. Obviously there is a disconnect somehow. Only last week we have been receiving very good and positive comments from many first time guests to the hotel like we have had previously. Unfortunately you did not particularise the observed short comings which would have helped us to make amends, if necessary. All the same, we recognise that we serve diverse clients with diverse interests. Our promise to you is that we are a listening organisation and we have immediately commissioned an independent person to reassess our facilities and quality of service. You stayed in November 2012 when we had just embarked on our year end renovations, we are proud to mention that we have now finally completed this comprehensive work. We thank you. Isdore

When we visited Citilodge in 2013 it was just average and still trying to get its act together but this last trip to the hotel has been an eye opener. I am going to be encouraging people from the UK to patronise the hotel because of the great improvements I noticed when we visited again for 3 weeks in January. The customer service is Excellent, the bed sheets very clean and white and the environment very neat. The rooms are of good good sizes. The location is perfect for movement around the island and even to the mainland and staff generally VERY friendly and CARING. I recommend this hotel to a Business traveller and to holiday makers. I have enjoyed my short stay at the hotel. Isdore the general manager was very helpful in making sure that our stay was pleasant and comfortable. I was traveling with a friend and both of us had a chance to talk and socialize with the general manager and chairman. I'm greatfull for the genuine concern and hospitality displayed from the staff at Citilodge Hotel. When a problem occurred at the hotel, Isdore resolved the problem immediately. I was very happy with the outcome. We enjoyed listening to the soothing music in the restaurant and pool side area. This vacation was very relaxing and refreshing. We had a wonderful time, and hope to see you real soon in the future. I highly recommend another visit to this hotel because of the great service and hospitality,

The staff is very qualified, friendly and hospitable. The environment was peaceful even though the Lekki-Epe Expressway is close, the power supply was constant.
The hotel is very well situated, Elegushi beach, cinemas/shopping malls are not far from its location.
There is free wifi available for as long as you stay. The pool area is also nice, when you need to refresh yourself and relax.
I really recommend this hotel and hope to come back soon.

I stayed in this hotel with my girlfriend for four nights in April. The best thing for me about the hotel was how helpful the staff were. Among other things, we had a problem with our booking which was not their fault, but they were great about helping us resolve this. In addition, the staff were all polite and friendly and gave helpful suggestions for what to see/do in the area.
The food was lovely as well (particularly the fish with ginger sauce!), and the room was nice and comfortable. Perhaps the AC could have been a bit quieter, but it didn't bother us too much.

I would say however (and this was not a fault of the hotel staff) that if you use the airport shuttle make sure the driver goes to the right terminal. I told him several times that we needed to go to the domestic terminal for a flight to Abuja, but he still dropped us at the international, and as I don't really know the airport I wasn't aware. If he hadn't heard me/misunderstood my accent fine, but in that case he SHOULD HAVE ASKED!

SCOAN is about 1hour 30 minutes from our hotel. Yes, we have public transport that runs from our hotel to the church however it is advisable that you take a taxi or a car hire from the rank in front of the hotel. The hotel can also pick you up at the airport upon arrival in Lagos,Nigeria.
