What a find! This is seriously the place to recharge the batteries, take in the fantastic views and plan the next stage of your journey! The staff are charming, the spacious rooms are clean and pristine and built in such a way as to make you feel that you're the only one staying there. Which you might well be! I...

The place is located in a very quiet, off the beaten path of the island. You have to take a narrow road up the hill, but it totally worth it! Everything is green and they try to be sustainable. Rooms are big and clean. As it is in the forest and surrounded by trees and bushes you might have an...

We visited Porvenir as part of a tour of the island of Ometepe in August 2016. Our guide, Danilo Flores of Cultu Natural, did a good job of sharing his knowledge of three quite distinct rock images. The images are compositions of familiar things - faces, lizards, serpents, etc., but their interpretation is far from clear. Danilo was very good...

Unbelievable views, fantastic staff (speaking some Spanish is definitely helpful), good food, great prices. The grounds were a wonderland of flowers and butterflies, and they even had reliable wifi in the common area. We will definitely stay there again some time.

I struggled to give a very good rating because the food was so bad and expensive (bfast starting at $7), and I got sick from it. However, the hotel itself was a great value and the grounds and rooms were lovely. The staff were very friendly, and they arranged a taxi to a clinic after I got sick. The wait...

Loved this place. Great view of the volcano Concepcion and located by the volcano Maderas. Quiet, peaceful. It is so cheap too, I got a nice clean room for $11 with a terrace with hammoc and chair. Been there twice now. If you're doing the volcano, go with a guide! We didn't and were lost for 14 hours..

Truly an amazing hostel. The prices are outstanding for private rooms that are clean and private. The common areas have a wonderful view of Concepion, with hammocks and seating. It is a bit far from the rest of the town of Santa Cruz (a steep walk up a long drive to get to the hostel), but that is part of...

Finca El Porvenir is nice and the panoramic view on the conception volcano is waouwww ! Rooms are very confy and food is ok. The price is really cheap especially compared to other option in in the area. But... service is very nonchalant... at some point you wonder if they feel a bit concerned about what you re saying !

We only stayed here our last night on the island and the hotel has beautiful grounds. There were only a few other guests and the hotel was very quiet. Not much english spoken but the staff were very friendly. The rooms are very large and a great deal at $11.50/person. You can walk around and view all the petroglyphs and...

The best souvenir of my trip in Nicaragua. I love the people there. And their very careful and family welcome. I just wonder when I could go back in this Eden garden... My favorite piece is that the water on tap is from the Maderas volcano above!

“Rooms 11 through 15 are the nicest, being the most removed from the center of the hotel area. Wifi is only available in a small area by the reception desk.”

“Rooms are ok, rustic but very clean ! They can wash your cloths or you can wash it yourself. Do not forget that you can drink the water there.... Comes directly from the volcano and is delicious. The guide for the volcano is huge too. We staid 2 nights and we're not think. They find a solution for anything with a nice smile ! Honestly, really great”

“The room by the kitchen gets noisy in the morning and there is some smoke coming from the kitchen, so if you want less distractions - ask for a room in the back.”

“There are two older buildings and two brand new buildings, both comfortable. The older rooms are slightly larger and closer to the dining rooms, have thicker walls and are more sound proof. The newer buildings are a little more private, have nice porches with hammocks but the sound carries more between rooms. All rooms have fans. At night you will occasionally hear mangos dropping on the roof of the newer buildings.”
