Set on the fringe of the dunes, Merzouga is a dry, uncompromising village. Maison Merzouga is a tranquil adobe-style hotel, with generous rooms, a swimming pool and a beautiful bird-filled courtyard at its heart. From the roof deck one can see spectacular sunsets over the dunes. Service was excellent, and the two owners took pains to introduce themselves to us...

Lahcen, the owner was so welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely, with comfy beds, and en-suite bathroom. Generous fresh breakfast. Our 5 year old daughter made friends with Lahcen's little girl, they had so much fun. We stayed here the night before our tour into the desert and was very well taken care of by the owner and staff. Dinner was very good and the music after the dinner excellent and our daughter participated with great joy. The rooms were very comfortable and well heated.

This was a great find and second stay for my traveling companions. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and warm with easily controlled thermostats(which was not the case in January in some riads). The owners were very warm and accommodating including preparing breakfast at 4:30 AM. They provided contacts for camel tours, ATVs (quads) and four wheel trips into the...

Lovely guest house, with a very welcoming owner and staff. Large clean rooms and delicious food. Great service all around. They have a great fireplace to warm up during a cold night in the Sahara desert.

Coming out into the desert we really were expecting to have to 'rough it'; we were very wrong. This guest house surpassed all expectations, from the beautiful, well appointed room and common areas to the great roof patio to watch the dunes at sunset. The owner was very friendly, talking with us as if we were old friends, and staff...

In a country of outstanding hospitality, the maison stood out. After a long day in the car we enjoyed the customary mint tea and snacks by a beautiful fire in the main guest room. At our leisure we were served a delicious dinner. All of the staff in this family owned guest house will make you feel like a long-lost...
