Stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 3, including 16 year old son on a bird-watching trip to the desert. The hotel offers various excursions including camel rides, nights in (pre-existing) berber camps in the dunes, and 4x4 trucks for hire. We did not do any of these, so can't comment, but the hotel was perhaps fully booked,...

We spent the one night in the Sahara with the camels. It was a fantastic experience! The staff was attentive, energetic and entertaining! They served mint tea, dinner, and drums by the fire. They displayed a genuine exuberance when playing the drums and singing by the fire, and this made the experience worthwhile and pleasurable. Make sure you get out...

We stayed here fro 2 nights and it was the most perfect place. Rooms are beautifully decorated, very peaceful settings, friendliest staff, amazing food and literally opens out into the dunes. I couldn't have dreamed of a better place to stay! we're already planning our return for next christmas

If Merzouga is the best place to experience the desert in Morocco then Kanz Erremal is the best place to experience Merzouga. Kanz offers all the basic amenities (confortable and clean room, free Wifi that works, excellent meals and helpful & friendly staff) without being overly expensive like the hotels next door. All my thumbs are up for this one.

When we arrived there it was fully booked out and i could see that it would not be peaceful anyway as there were 3 or 4 large buses parked. Had a look around anyway and it was very nice and unique however one could not get a seat...it was packed. Due to this the prices were steep as they had...

We had seen the pictures in the website but could not believe what we were seeing when we walked past the door that leads to the sand dunes. The pool, the terrace, the camels, all breathtaking. And sleeping under the stars right in the middle of the sand dunes was the highlight of our trip to Morocco. its realy amazing...

I arrived by bus in Merzouga around nine in the evening. You are greeted by a handful of men dressed in Berber garb offering up different locations for you to spend the night. Other than this small band of men, the town was void of any inhabitants or options. I am glad we had called ahead. We were soon greeted...

We stayed at this Kasbah Kanz Erremal during our trip to the dunes in Merzouga. It is essentially in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by sand dunes with wondering camels. At night, this place is just magical. We sat in the dunes for a short period and were entertained by dozens of shooting starts. There were so many stars; I...

Great hotel by the Erg Chebbi. The views from the terrace or from the pool are incredible. Breakfast is great and all the employees are very helpful and nice. I fully recommend to take a tour at the dunes either in a 4x4 or in a camel caravan. The local music and dancing show performed at dinner time is also...

This place was nothing short of spectacular! We arrived after hours and hours of travel to find our jaws dropping in awe at the gorgeous hotel, interior design of the rooms, and sweeping views of the Sahara Desert off the back patio. Everything about the place too my breath away, from the tiny details in the rooms to the exquisite...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Kanz Erremal is located at the base of the desert dunes, surrounded by the fascinating landscape of Erg Chebbi, in the southeast of Morocco. It is located 36 kilometres from Rissani, a 7-minute drive from the centre of Merzouga (free shuttle between Merzouga-hotel) and only a stone's throw away of the famous dunes of Erg Chebbi. Kanz Erremal has a haimas camp and also organizes a ridding a camel trip in order to spend a night in the desert. Furthermore, it organizes seven-road trips to explore the spectacular places that the landscape offers. The Hotel has the structure of a typical kasbah: it is made of adobe mud and hay. The rooms have a traditional decoration, typical from the region. They have air conditioning, free wifi access, bathroom and great external views, most of them to the dunes. The pool is located in front of the dunes, so swimmers have the impression to swim in the middle of the desert. The hotel offers a good example of traditional Moroccan cuisine based on natural ingredients: hariras (soups), vegetable tagins, chicken, beef, lamb, varied couscous, raw and cooked salads, skewers, Berber pizza... In short, Kanz Erremal is a place of peace and authenticity and a good site in order to discover the spectacular golden sand of the Sahara dunes. ... more   less
