What else do you need?! A lovely little chalet on the beach. In a fantastic location, just 5 mins walk to arguably the best snorkelling spot, turtle beach. This place was the best value of quite a few we checked, and far better than anywhere we found online. The staff were all lovely, helpful, fun and really friendly. We might... More

We stayed for 4 nights at the Reef Chalets and had a fantastic stay. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but when you're spending all day either on the beach or on your own private chalet terrace, this isn't an issue at all! The showers had no hot water but this actually proved to... The bungalows that sit in a semi-circle in front look nice and I was impressed by how nicely the grounds were maintained. We stayed in the building behind which offers less expensive rooms which would have been absolutely fine if it were not for the outrageously loud generator24/7 that turned out to be from the hotel next door. I complained... More

They where full but gave us the family suite for one night and then we went to a different place. The room looked like it had not been used in quite a while but still had its charms. The one downside of this room was the continues sound of the aggregate.. I don't know how the challet looks like but... More

5 nights in a chalet right on the beach. The bungalow is basic, but that's what we wanted in a place that's all about nature: the sea and the beach, especially. The staff 's great: always helpful, smiling and friendly. If you ask for something that's beyond their intrinsic duties, they'll go out of their way to help you! We... More

OMG.I really want to come here again. The chalet is so clean, the staffs are friendly. Aircond very cold, feel like having a house with a seaview. Strategic location. And lively at night. Not so hard to find place to eat, you can eat at The Barat, debit/credit card accepted. Awesme island to stay at!

Decent budget accommodation on perhentian besar. No breakfast or on-site restaurant, but plenty of nearby options. We just stayed briefly as they only had 1 night availability. Had to move on after that. They arranged Kota bharu airport transfer for us which was helpful.

This is basic accommodation for a beach stay. Separate cottages with a covered verandah. Our cottage had air con as well as a fan. Bed comfort was ok but sheet wasn't big enough to cover the both of us! If your budget allows, cottages closer to the beach are quieter as there is a generator at the back of the... More

Pros Beautiful location 5 min walk to best beach on Perhentians Friendly helpful staff Good range of activities Good range of restaurants nearby Cons The only way to make a reservation is make an online deposit into their bank account, which incurs excessive bank fees. It would have been better if they had accepted credit card, as many other places... More

The reef chalets is really just a group of simple cabins set in a tropical garden centred on a huge tree, but it has a great feel to it. The cabins are pretty basic, but there were some nice touches like the large covered deck out the front, the plentiful hooks and hanging lines for wetsuits, towels, etc, the provision... More
