The alarm bells started ringing when we were told we had to check into the hotel after lunch because the staff had to “remove plastic from the bed and clean up the gecko poo”......hmmm... For lunch we proceeded to the “restaurant” (apparently we had already paid for our meal). We were told we were having a banquet for the 4...

We were the only guests and hence got a lot of one on one , and attention. We could pretty much go to the santuary when we wanted and depart when we were ready. Last feeding of day we were there with only 2 orher people and could ask lots of questions and really learned a lot. They had so...

Stayed in a dorm room and it felt a bit like a desterted place. Was serveral rooms and huge toilet and shower areas. But I was the only guest and it seemed I was the first guest for a while. In the rest rooms there was dead flies and insects, paper parts of the inner roof was starting to fall...

I had a day to kill before i headed to semporna so when i heard you could stay over night at the proboscis monkey sanctuary i thought why not? A dorm bed was 28RM with breakfast (a few slices of toast and cup of tea/coffee.) The good thing about staying overnight is you get to go to the last feeding...

{+}: Set in the midst of a brackish nipah palm swamp; it is filled with wildlife. Unlike nearby jungles, the estuary has no leeches. Tropical hardwood dual {attatched} cabins. Rare birds & monkeys come right to your verandah door. Architecture in the style of an authentic jungle lodge. {-}: Linens should be washed with anti- bacterial detergent. There should be...

We had a lovely nights stay here with very attentive/informative staff. The actual guide who feeds/looks after the monkeys came and picked us up. We had some good one on one time talking and chatting about the monkeys and the sanctuary. The accommodation is wooden lodge style set over swamp/water with boardwalks between. It is a very quiet place and...

I think we were the only guests staying here after we've been through the Proboscis Sanctuary and we thought it would be a wise choice since we probably were tired after our day with the monkeys. We were right about that though, after going back and forth between platform A and B three times it was nice to lie down...

expensive, basic huts built on a swamp. Staff were very helpful but we found the whole experience of being there depressing. We were the only guests which was somewhat spooky at night. When I asked if there was a beach close by (being that we were at a bay), I was told "we have no beach here, only swamp!" No...

Nipah lodge is located inside the Proboscis monkey sanctuary. It is built on the mangrove wet-land, very well-maintain (much better than Selingan turtle island park) and clean. The staffs are extremely friendly. We checked in at 9am then go straight to platform A for viewing. We did 3 proboscis monkeys feeding in one day and a firefly tour at night....

My daughter and I stayed two nights. The chalets were very quiet and clean. We enjoyed the closeness of the jungle and our numerous and long visits to the proboscis sanctuary. The staff did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. The guide was very kind and made it possible for us to come into close contacts with the...
