My wife and I had a great three nights here. I've never eaten so much food in my life! Service was great and the location on the banks of the Galana river is superb. The highlight was definitely the elephants two feet from the tent!

The location is really beutiful, the rooms are amazing (what a bed!), the staff were incredibly friendly and nice, great service and food... I can't say enough good things about Galdessa, I would love to go back. My family and I all loved it and we strongly recommend it. We were there for three nights and it was fantastic. I...

Somehow, we were fortunate enough to be staying on our own at Galdessa, and to be honest a few other people around to have a chat with and to take a bit of the attention off us would have been nice. That said, what an experience. We had the end tent thing which had an upstairs balcony with a bed...

Honestly, the best place I have ever been to. You will be surprised to find such place in the middle of nowhere in tsavo. Great food as well. (and I am quite exigent)A stay in a luxury place, but perfectly compliant with the surrounding Savana, all wood, everything eco-friendly. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, even tough we didnt pay...

Galdessa lies deep in the Kenya bush, along a River in an area of absolutely serenity and incredible beauty. If you book through an external operator it's more affordable than booking direct, so i'd do that although the services they offer on site (game drives etc.) are clearly superior. As you've probably read, the camp is open so animals come...

This camp is really really nice, it is advertised as a luxery camp and rightly so. However, do note that it is an open camp which means no fences to stop the animals from coming in. This provided a great experience for me and i loved it, though my boyfriend at the time would probably say otherwise due to his...

I took my wife away for 4 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I chose Galdessa camp primarily because of its location on the banks of the Galana river in Tsavo East. This is a beautiful part of Tsavo East and the Camp is beautiful;y built and blended into the natural environment. We were given the honeymoon tent, a truly...

Never in my life have I done any form of camping & this was the closest I would get. Spent the 2nd night of a 3 night safari here. The drive to the camp was perilous in parts as it is situated in a rather remote area but when you are greeted with the stunning views across the river it...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located along the Galana river, in wildest and most secluded location of Tsavo East National park, this stunning camp's main focus is on relaxation and letting the wildlife come to you right in front of your tent. Galdessa sits beneath giant doum palms, 15 kilometres upstream from Lugard's Falls, with its elegant thatch-and-canvas tents, overlooking the meandering waters of the Galana River, Galdessa offers the ultimate 'bush style' safari experience. Game drives in open vehicles, walking safaris along the Galana River and sand rivers. Sundowners, bush breakfast. The camp's direct area is a home to over 51 black rhino. Tsavo East National Park is a Wilderness area and the game can be shy but it offers great bio-diversity. Uncommon species seen there include lesser kudu, gerenuk, fringed eared oryx, hirola and Peter's gazelle. The area is renowned for elephants particularly during the dry season. Tsavo a bird watcher paradise being particularly rich in birdlife. SUGGESTED STAY TO REALLY APPRECIATE WHAT WE CAN OFFER 3 NIGHTS. ... more   less
