We booked our safari through JT Safaris (see separate review) and this was our first night of our 3 night and 4 day safari for our honeymoon. The Camp is absolutely amazing our 'tent' was really luxurious and the camp grounds are lovely with impala running around you constantly. the whole time we were there the water hole was full...

This was our first time to Africa and after extensive/exhaustive research settled on a 6 day safari with JT Julius Safari (separate review - great safari!) with this being one of our three camps. We had spent a week in Uganda with missionary friends and a week at the Voyager Beach resort (wonderful place) in Mombasa before starting out on...

Just returned from a magical journey through Kenya. We stayed at this camp for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The camp is small, intimate and very friendly. The tents are very spacious, secure, good quality and nicely furnished 'african' style, with thatched roofs, there was even a mini bar/fridge which is a bonus in the middle...

Booked through JT Safaris and it was a great experience. Its a tented camp although they are "posh" tents with all facilities but there are no perimeter fences which means any animals can come into the camp and indeed we were woken up by a Hippo outside of our tent at 3am! It is safe though and well patrolled, but...

My wife and I stayed 2 nights here on the all inclusive package. Game drives were very well guided and sundowner was beautiful. We were staying in the suite which has a very unusual bathroom with a view out over the bush - you can have a bath whilst watching the wildlife walk by as close as you towel! Food...

The staff are friendly and and nothing is to much for them. Luch under and 200years old Tamarid tree Marvalous. The tent is...

Last night of our safari adventure was spent here. If you love elephants you must come to this place. A rustic simple charm, lunch under a large spreading tree, watching hundreds of elephants coming and going and interacting, from a waterhole only a few hundred yards away. Permanent tents are very spacious with enormous bath rooms, comfy beds (mossie nets...

Visited Satao camp in July 2013 with kids 15, 13 and 11. We only had 2 nights and 3 days here but enjoyed every minute of it. The staff were friendly and very professional. The tents are lovely, clean and mosquito free if you remember to keep them zipped up. The food in this place was very good and they...

Stayed 2 nights at Satao Camp and it was out of this world!! I have never relaxed so much on any other trip. Its really magical. You are lucky enough to be right in the middle of nature at its most dramatic. I loved the rustic styling that fits so well and blends into the beauty of the bush. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Satao Camp is arguably one of the best locations in Africa for observing elephants from your tent. The atmosphere in the evenings with the Impala and Waterbuck sitting all around you is something quite unique and special. With only 20 tents Satao Camp is small and private. It is located away from the main congested areas of Tsavo so one can enjoy the privacy of being at one with nature. This is a true Safari Experience. ... more   less
