Detailed Reviews
We had a great stay at Limestone View. The hosts Dzung and Dep were very kind and helpful. The room was large and clean, wifi provided and a great fresh cooked breakfast each morning with fresh fruit and juice and Vietnamese coffee. Dzung made sure our family was very well looked after, helping with all aspects of our time in Ninh Binh. We were able to use bikes and rode to all tourist locations with Dzung’s helpful map and guidance. Dzung organised private transfers for us which were very comfortable and reasonably priced. There is a roof top pool which would be good in summer (but the weather was too cold to swim in December). We would recommend staying here!

We had the most wonderful experience at Limestone View Homestay. Dzung and his family were all so lovely and welcoming during our stay. The room was large and comfortable with incredible views of the scenery of Ninh Binh. The family were so kind, friendly and helpful during the stay. Dzung’s wife prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning and they lent us their bikes to explore the local area. Dzung provided lots of useful information and tips about what to do including visiting Trang An, Tam Coc and Mua Cave. He was always there to greet us whenever we arrived/ left the building. He also recommended local restaurants for the evening. Although we only stayed for 1 night, Dzung gave us full use of facilities for the 2 full days - giving us an extra breakfast on the day we arrived and letting us use showers later on the 2nd day after getting caught in the rain. He organised our transport onto the next part of our trip and the whole family gave us a lovely, warm send off. The experience was so happy and positive. We would absolutely recommend Limestone View Homestay and hope to visit again in the future! Thank you Dzung and family.

The welcome from Dzong and his family is the biggest strength of this hotel. Vietnamese kindness at its peak. Dzong gave us explanations about Trang An and very good advice for planning our visit. We felt all the love he has for his region. We were upgraded to a room with 2 king size beds (with slightly hard mattresses, it must be admitted) and terrace with a splendid view, not far from the swimming pool on the rooftop which is very pleasant. The breakfast was superb and very generous (banana pancakes and fresh fruit platters). Self-service bicycles allowed us to wander around the region and reach Hang Mua and the departure of the boats from Trang An. Dzong even organized our transfer to Hanoi at the end of our stay. Perfect.

+1
Dzung and his family get 10 stars for service, he truly goes above and beyond with fantastic recommendations, booked us scooters, car transfers, restaurant suggestions. Huge room with 2 king beds for my 19 yo son and I with a view of the limestone mountains. Delicious breakfast each day fresh pancake with banana, fresh fruit, fresh juice and coffee.
We walked at night, an easy walk, to the restaurant “Nha Hang De Chinh Thu” (one of Dzung’s recommendations) and ate stir-fried goat and stir-fried vegetables (all green). I was sceptical about the goat (a local speciality) but both dishes were superb. The following night we ate at “Trang A Riverside Garden Restaurant” (a little bit further past the first restaurant but not far) and they serve pizzas as well as traditional Vietnamese dishes. Restaurant, food and service was great. Highly recommend both restaurants.
We hired scooters and explored the area along the dirt road 479B (look on Google maps), it was beautiful and could also be explored by bicycle. The Trang An boat tour is best done first thing in the morning or at 3pm (which avoids the day-tripper crowds). We took Route 3 which was fantastic as it takes you through the longest (1km) and lowest cave, stunning scenery. We also rode to Mua Caves and climbed to the top, again best done before 9am or after 3pm to avoid the crowds. Very steep steps but incredible views. Then we explored Tam Coc. You can either cycle from Limestone View Homestay, scooter there, or hire bicycles in Tam Coc, head towards ‘Buffalo Cave’ on Google Maps and explore lots of little paths in that area, just beautiful. Ate lunch at Spice Garden Restaurant in Tam Coc which was good food.
The Bai Dinh Pagoda and temples ‘Tourist Complex’ are impressive despite being only ~12 years old new. Despite that it’s worth a visit because of its colossal size. It’s 250,000VND for a ticket that lets you hop on and off the electric bus at the different sites and go up to the top of the Pagoda. The 60,000 ticket only gets you in the gate and it’s a long uphill walk to reach pagoda and temples. We also visited the Ancient Capital which was interesting reading the local history.
All in all, staying here at Dzung’s and exploring the area was the highlight of our Vietnam trip.

Dzung and his wife are outstanding hosts. They welcomed us warmly at their doorstep, informed us about nearby attractions, invited all the guests to an excellent Christmas dinner, prepared a great healthy breakfast and helped out to arrange onward travel.
Besides this, we had a great time chatting with Dzung, who is super friendly and speaks great English.
The guesthouse also enjoys a great location, a short drive from town and close to all sights. There are free bikes provided and the property now features a rooftop pool.
We highly recommend to stay there!

My family travels globally often. I don’t think I’ve ever met a kinder host than at the Limestone view Homestay. They bend over backwards to make their guests happy. Though it’s called a “Homestay”, it feels more like a boutique hotel, but it is family owned and operated. We met the very kind and welcoming husband, wife, and their teen son. We moved here from another Homestay that was rustic and, frankly, uncomfortable (dirty sheets & bathroom, AC not working, trash around the property, leak in our room, etc) & we are so glad we did!
The rooms are spacious, modern, have AC that works well (unlike some others we’ve stayed in, which is key since it’s blazing hot now), are pristine, have gorgeous views, comfy beds/linens, and modern, well equipped private bathrooms. They provide umbrellas and cone hats for guests’ use. They thought of every detail to ensure comfort. There are large balconies with gorgeous views of the limestone.
Breakfast here was fresh & made to order. Thick pancakes and eggs/omelets, along with freshly prepared pineapple juice (with no added sugar/additives). So delicious.
The rooftop pool is very clean (unlike some other hotels) & provided respite to my family on this hot day.
I recommend this property 110%. Book it, you won’t be disappointed!

We spent two night here in a stunning room with spectacular views. Dzung and his wife Dep were so helpful and kind and attentive, included breakfast served on the top floor with 270 degree view of the mountains and village, free use of bikes, dinner no longer provided but the walk into the little village of Trang An in the dark with Dzung’s high powered flashlight for dinner at one of the handful of local restaurants was part of the magic and charm of this sweet little town. (Yes their most famous restaurant serves only goat, with an impressive line of vans and cars arriving on Saturday night, but I met some of these goats on a motorbike ride to the local bird sanctuary and could not bring myself to try it.) Dzung arranged the motorbike rental and offered a late check out as we were catching a late train south. Off the main tourist path with a real feel of country life, close to everything there is to see. The whole family was welcoming and we really felt like we were visiting long lost relatives. Truly unique and unforgettable experience!

Great family : they welcome you right from the taxi and they will help you have a great stay in any way they can ! It is ideally located between all the sightseeing places. You can borrow bicycles to ride in the countryside and it was a great way to explore around and even go to the Muah cave (just 2 km away), to Tam coc (5 km). Dzoung loaned us a child bike for my 8 year old but as he wasn't very confident on the bike (new at biking) - Dzoung loaned us a child carrier seat the next days. It worked perfectly. They noticed we had done some washing for our clothes and they dried all of it for us and offered to do the rest of the washing for us which was helpful. The breakfast was good and the boys enjoyed asking for more banana pancakes... My husband was also happy to get as many coffees he likes. The room was very clean, the beds were huge... We even used the swimming pool even though it was winter - we might have been the first ones to use it in winter as they were surprised: we are Canadians and the boys loved to use the little boat Dzoung has.
They are on their way to get an elevator (you should double check with them though) and the rooms seemed accessible for wheelchairs : lower switches, large doorways, roomy bedrooms.

This has been the warmest homestay experience we have ever had. Dzung and his family who run the place, are like Ninh Binh, lovely warm and inviting. Our room was cozy with a fantastic view and real feel of home because of the care Dzung took. He mapped out things for us to do, lent us his bicycles for free to ride to Mua caves(just 2kms from the homestay), gave us a list of local eateries and delicacies to try and mapped out our itinerary with insider tips to ensure we had the best possible experience during our stay there. He even took care of some emergency laundry issues free of cost!! I cannot recommend Dzunj's homestay enough. It was the best part of our stay in Vietnam.

Hi, there is generally Tofu available in most places (I dont eat a lot of meat when travelling and found it relatively easy). I'm not sure about Dairy but as this is a home stay they are very accommodating to your needs. Dung was amazing, heaps of local knowledge and and really good cook. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable so have no doubt he would accommodate your needs. You could always email him and check first.
