This property must have had a period of greatness a few decades ago, but the owners seemed to have lost interest in the upkeep of the place and it is slowly falling apart. It now would fit well in a Twin Peaks episode, given its quirky state. Staff were nice but seemed unable to manage any request or solve any...

We stayed here for a couple of nights during which we crossed the friendship bridge into Laos for a day's visit. The hotel was better than we had expected after reading the previous reviews. The place appeared to heve been refusbished somewhat & the staff were excellent and could not have been home helpful. The restaurant had a reasonable variety...

The Grand Paradise is an old hotel getting older. But, the rooms are good size. A/C is fine. Location is OK (although you need a tuk-tuk since nothing is walkable). Rates are too high for the what you pay for. Not very clean (especially bathrooms), but few places in Nong Khai are. Has a night time restaurant on open top...

We first stayed at the Nong Khai Grand - now called Grand Paradise - in 2007. We went back again this year, after a long time abroad, because we enjoyed the hotel the first time and found that it was a good base for the area. It was as pleasant this time as it was in 2007. All of the...

We booked two nights but leave after one night. It started when they not reply our reservation request (5 emails = no reply). After a phone call they confirmed the reservation. Now i know why: because the front desk told me that they have no internet acess ! Dont trust the website of the hotel: The rooms, the lounges look...

No evidence of the complaints of other reviews so I guess it has been refurbished. Room on the 5th floor overlooking the front. Large, clean, comfortable. and quiet. New carpets in room and corridor. Good quality clean sheets and towels. Good free wifi in room. Excellent breakfast buffet with a very wide selection of food. No kettle in room

The good points: a very nice rooftop restaurant (open in the evenings) with good food and thai style karaoke, friendly staff, spacious rooms/bathrooms, walking distance to the oriental market and Mekong River. The bad points: the hotel is very run down, the swimming pool is in very bad condition right next to the hotels exposed cooling towers, the breakfast was...

Outside the huge buiding can be defined "grand Hotel", but when you get inside you will definietely change your mind. Large and bright hall with old forniture both at the front desk desk and around the ambience. Corridors and rooms are even worse. Bad smell everywhere, decrepit forniture, tear bedsheets and towels. Average cleaning. Limited buffet breakfast and bad service....
