This place has some good features, which I'll come onto. Apparently the new owner has only had the place 3 months. He changed the name to At Tanote (formerly Tanote Good View) but has failed to tell anyone that fact. I emailed before arriving asking how to get to the property from the ferry pier, but got no response. Arriving at the pier, no-one had heard of the place and no taxi knew where to take us. We found a phone number and phoned several times but there was no answer. We got a cab in the hope that we might find it. Telling the driver it was called At Tanote caused great confusion because the bay is called Ao Tanote. After repeating the name 100 times, we gave up. We pulled into Good View to ask directions. The caretaker and the receptionist had never heard of At Tanote. But then the owner appeared and told us we were in the right place. It's not good if even the staff don't know! Ridiculous. This site also says that breakfast is available, but it was not. Despite having a bar full of drink, we were told it was not operational. The room itself was perfectly adequate and comfortable with great views over the bay. There's a roof-top bar terrace amongst the rocks that is a stunning place to sit, but they don't capitalise on it. We had to take our own drinks. The property is only a short distance from the bay and beach, dive centre etc but it is STEEP! I'd recommend getting scooters to anyone who wants to stay. Having said that, this place has some good points. Most places to eat etc are in the town but, the nearest neighbour (downhill) is Sun and Moon restaurant and cookery school. The lady cooks to order. As much authentic Thai food as you can eat for 250 Baht. The beach and bay with its jumping rock, beach bars, resorts, Calypso dive centre etc are great if you want away from the bustle of the West coast. This could be a great place to stay but management have a long way to go in improving their client service.

Enjoyed this "resort" for a few days to experience Tanote Beach (which was excellent) and found it really good value for money! Got a great deal on Agoda and it was nice to meet the friendly staff and spend the time snorkeling around the reef. Can highly recommend to climb the big rock in the middle of the bay and go for a jump.

It was at first a struggle to locate the hotel as on the booking app it’s named “ At Tanote” and not “ Tanote Good View” from the ferry port you’ll have to pay 500baht as it’s over the mountain to get there, unless you can some how manage to get a taxi booked through the hotel which is 300baht and the driver is very friendly, hiring a Moto bike at the hotel is very easy, The most amazing view is just around the corner at a place called “Love Koh Tao” and you’re just a short drive to shark bay, But nothing is walkable really as the hills are very very steep! Room was clean, air con worked perfectly and the bathroom was very nice also.

We had a very pleasant stay in good view. Connecting rooms so our 3 children had their own room (with climbing rock inside) but where only one step away.
