Stayed here for a few nights during the uncharacteristically rainy period in January this year. The dorm I stayed in was an uncovered walk up the hill so I got soaked every time I went from the room to the common area and vice versa. There was no wifi in the room I was in so travelling between the two...

The staff were nice. But not always helpful. AC went out while we were there. They couldn't help us book a taxi for our 6am ferry ride. If your on a budget this place works. Otherwise, I would encourage you to look for somewhere nicer to enjoy your time on Koh Tao.

At first Spicy Tao seemed bad. Rude staff, no warm water, no wifi... but we spend two nights in there and it was great! The staff wasnt rude at all. Maybe they were upset because of the floods or something when we first arrived. And the wifi didnt work because of the floods. The place has a really nice common...

We booked three nights at the hostel, and stayed all 3 nights. As my title says, you basically get what you pay for here. It is probably the cheapest place on Koh Tao, and the place reflects it. It is situated in the jungle, about 10-15 minutes walk from the town, mosquito infested (not really the hostels fault) and VERY...

Of all the hostels I have walked past/stayed at in Koh Tao, SpicyTao is defo one of the best hostels! The owner Chen is awesome, really chilled and good English, very helpful. The WiFi is really good and breakfast is included (toast and jam, sweet as.) The hostel is set about a 5 minute walk from Sairwee beach, which is...

Oh, this IS the place in Koh Tao. It's a bit off but I'm sure that's for the better. The parties were really fun, we had a big bbq and some movie nights. There were also some divers there which didn't seemed to be bothered, you can party and you can relax. The lounge area is huge and there's always...

When I first walked into the dorm, there was a cat lying on one of the beds and my pillow cover had white stains on it. I think that says enough about the level of hygiene in this place. Would definitely not recommend it to anyone. Checked out and stayed elsewhere.

Stayed in this hostel for 4 nights when travelling with my friends. The rooms aircon was a joke, didn't reach my bed so was actually boiling, couldn't sleep atall, also there was so many mosquitos that even the bug spray didn't help. The beds were made out of this leather like material, which did not work in the heat atall...

Yes, the amenities are crap. The water isn't always working (but you can bucket shower) the breakfast isn't really good (but you won't find many hostel that include breakfast) and the toilet might get clogged (told the reception and they called a plumber right after) So why would I give this hostel 5 stars?! Because for once, people talk to...

Worst hostel i have stayed in, not even worth the cheap price. The room had terrible air conditioning, was right next to the bar, had a bright light both out the front door and in the toilet, both were opened frequently. If you are looking to party and not sleep, this place is probably great. But on this island where...
