This is the last resort on the island, you cannot drive any further than here. It has a magical feel, beautiful nature and view and with a little bit of work could be transformed into a beautiful resort. However none of this is happening, it looks forgotten and abandoned, without any care. None of this bothered me until I saw... More

We visited this place by excident, we just wanted to drink something somewhere. When we came here, everything looked a bit creepy, like an old zoo or something like that. When we walked down to the restaurant we saw the poor animals, the monkey, peacocks and other bird looked miserable. When we bought some water we walked back and gave... More

I agree with all the negativity. The property is run down and uninviting. Some of the reviews point out that there is a new owner - so why then is there still an abused monkey suffering in a cage? On top of this they have added a peacock to their display of cruelty. Are these tortured animals supposed to attract... More

We were hungry and decided to stop at this place since it looked like a cute little hotel with a restaurant. As we were walking to the restaurant we noticed that there was a monkey imprisoned in a small dirty cage - it was clear that the monkey was very stressed and miserable. Who knows if they ever let the... More

Literally couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a caged monkey look so distressed and scared. There was no food in the cage, a try of filthy water and a sign saying to donate. When we asked the man at the restaurant if he had any bananas we could buy to feed it he played dumb. My boyfriend and I... More

This is the kind of hotel that you would see in horror movies. Oddly enough, it's a beautiful setting in the remote southern tip of Lanta but you just get a strange and creepy vibe upon entering, kind of like walking through a dark alley late at night, or going to a haunted mansion. Whether it's the chained up monkey... More

On our tour over the island yesterday we saw 2 very sad and stressed looking monkeys, locked up alone in two cages. I enclosed three pictures. I dont understand why they have them locked up like that, they didnt seem like the kind they use for coconuts. Just as a small zoo-animal which just made the tourists who walked by... More

Why would a resort keep monkeys in cages that are depressingly small? Why keep them at all? In this day and age, doing such a thing can only be considered inexcusable. Do something about this. This is intolerable.

“it seems that the boat rooms are the cleanest, and very charming (however those who are tall will have to mind some of the doorways, etc- a common occurrence here in Thailand); DO rent a scooter elsewhere on the island so that you will be able to explore the island and not be figuratively "stuck there", as the resort is extremely isolated at the s tip of Koh Lanta”
