Ambience 5/5 : This property is built over the slopes of the hills and therefore one needs to climb steps/walk over steep roads. They have couple of lifts and a pickup drop vehicle during check-in and check-out. Since the location of this place is a little outside (~7kms from the lake) the city, you can feel the calmness. This place has 2 separate indoor games room, also has few outdoor activities like zipline, net climbing, children play area (small). The resturant has nice seating arrangement.
Room 5/5 : We chose to stay in Chalet type rooms which had all wooden interiors. 300 series rooms had a fantastic view from the room and had a additional sitout area. Size of the rooms were spacious with a 2 seater sofa and a tea table. Sleep quality was excellent. Washrooms were clean & spotless and had a separate shower cabinet. Basic toilteries, dental kits were provided.
Food 3.5/5 : Breakfast Buffet spread was decent enough - Had idly, upma/kichadi, poori, cut fruits, bread section, live dosa & egg counters daily. I felt the menu options for lunch and dinner was a little limited and can be improved. (For lunch and dinner there was no buffet option available) Service was fantastic and the friendly.
Overall 4/5 : This is a very nice place if you want to relax and enjoy the climate with your loved ones. Ample car parking is available for ~10 cars.

The property is quite spick and clean, but the location is quite far about 30Minuts drive from Kodai lake the accessing roads are narrow.
Staffs & Chef at GRT Kodai were very hospitable constantly checking with us about our experience and taking the feedback which is a good sign for the management to have such staff.
Property has to add up amenities and entrainment activities wrt the tariff fixed and rock cabin rooms has to be expanded we felt it cramped.

This resort is an awesome choice for off season as you will get rooms for 50% lesser price. The only catch is that this is located very far from the city center and you will have to spend atleast 600 rupees just to go out. So, most of the times you will have to dine in their restaurant only. The taste is good;but very costly. Also,if you are trying to use cab service by the resort,it will cost you twice when compare to other options like Kodai Make my cabs. We stayed in a timber chalet with a breathtaking view.All the staff members especially the restaurant members and their manager Mr.Bala were very kind and facilitated all our requests related to food preparation for our 18 months old son. I can only say that the food price being costly as the only disadvantage of this resort. Having said that their hospitality and accommodative behavior make the overall experience as a very pleasant one.

Booked the Timber Chalet for 3 nights, our stay at the property was very pleasant. We traveled to Kodaikanal in mid December. The property is at a distance of about 6 to 7 Kms away from the main city. Nights were really cold. The staff are very polite and courteous. The Timber Chalets are the top of the accommodation options at GRT, they are located on an incline and elderly folks or people who aren't that fit would find it difficult to walk down to the restaurant and walk back up to the Chalets. The property does provide a 4X4 vehicle which caters to picking visitors from their rooms and dropping them off at the restaurant and back at their rooms. Installation of lifts was in progress at the time of our stay, the lifs should provide an easier mode of access to the Timber Chalets and the restaurant.
The breakfast buffet spread at the restaurant was sumptuous with a wide variety of options. The A la carte food items on the other hand are mostly priced upwards of 250 or 300 INR. With the property being about 7 Kms away from the city, it isn't easy for one to venture out late evening or night for Dinner.
The property also provides a Free Horse ride to interested folks, we also saw an adventure trail, a rope line etc. There were plenty of Indoor games to choose from at the Recreation facility next to the restaurant.

The stay, food and location of this hotel is good. Would suggest this for a safe family get together during these Covid times. Improvements can be made on standard check-in and check out timings and on maintaining basic essentials toiletries items across the rooms which is hit or miss at times.

The Room service and Location was excellent, Breakfast was delicious... As part of improvement, the management can reduce the food cost for lunch & dinner. Lift service needs to be looked into it, which was under maintenance for the complete 3 days of my trip.

We checked in to Great trials by GRT, kodaikanal for a nights stay and it was the worst experience ever. Being a 4 star hotel they couldn’t provide us with basic necessities like water, hand towels & laundry bags. And the bath towels provided were so old that there was a weird smell coming out of them. Room service was another pathetic experience. We had to literally make 4-5 calls and wait for an hour to get a bottle of water & 2 plates. And the body wash n shampoo provided in the bathroom were so cheap in quality that I started wondering how on earth is this resort even a 4 Star resort. Very disappointed with the trip advisor suggesting such low grade resorts in the top 10 list.

When we were planning for trip to Kodaikanal this resort was shortlisted among few others , earlier we were little confused about this resort due to high (infact most) number of reviews by 1st timer,this was looking suspicious but finally took the risk going through photos attached with the reviews and also recommendation of a friend who stayed here earlier.In the end it was a good experience.

A day before check in got a call from resort about expected arrival time.When we reach there around 1 am mid night they were waiting us , smooth check in experience and within 10 min of arriving we were at our room.
Location: The property is 6-7 km away from main town situated in a valley.If wants to stay away from crowded area in a peaceful environment then this is for you.Those who wants to stay somewhere close to market where they can visit shopping after sight seeing or stroll to restaurant for dinner then this is not for them.Nothing walking from resort, neither any shop nor place to eat,also no public transport.
Property: The property is spread in a valley with slope but fortunately they have lift to take you to different levels of rooms.Other than the rooms they have kids play area,indoor play area,a spa and a restaurant.
Service: Staff were courteous and helpful, always ready to assist,either reception staff or restaurant or cleaning.No complain for any staff or services.
Room: They have two type of room,stone chalet r and Timber Chalker.Timber chalet is higher level of room and also situated on higher levels.We were given room situated on highest row .Vies from room was good and also a sit out area.Bed was comfortable,a heater was provided.Bathroom was clean with decent toiletries.
Restaurant: Breakfast was included in the our hotel tarrif.The complimentary buffet breakfast was not lavish but a decent one.Other than that we had all our dinner there,liked the food preparation but found little overpriced.
Overall loved our stay and certainly can recommend it.

Had a great time at GRT Great Trials. Spent about 4 days here and had a really nice time. Every single person, from the valet to the receptionist to the room service were very courteous. Sweet people too as they guided us with pointers around which places were still open. Pretty knowledgeable folks who seemed to know a couple of off-beat spots too.
The rooms are plush, with painted windows and a crazy good view. I'd taken the Chalet for 3 folks and the room was spacious enough to accommodate all of us. There's a cute balcony that opens up to an awesome view of the valley.
The food was really delicious too. The buffet was damn nice, but the best one was the Dum Gosth Biriyani (Mutton). Served piping hot, its easily one of the best biriyanis in Kodaikanal. And I'm taking into consideration Manmanam, Hilltop, etc. Don't let the price scare you, coz they give you a hotpack filled to the brim, easily enough for 2.
For the remote workers, there's internet on-tap, 24 hours. There's a decent 2Mbps speed constantly and i was able to get a few zoom calls in without a hassle.
I'd definitely recommend it for the location of the hotel, the courteous staff, & the sumptuous food 😁😁✌
P.S: The road leading up to the hotel is a bit narrow & slightly bad (probably coz of the cyclone) but one should be cautious if returning back at late hours.
