Another great pit stop plus. Madurai is the old capital of Tamil Nadu before Chennai or Madras as we Brits used to call it. With its dry clinate its a great producer of jasmine, the gorgeous scent that graces our bus each morning. We loved this city much bettee vibe than Trichy from the night before And this was a beautiful hotel. Had a wonderful late night swim in the pool before bed last night and a complimentary fruit box from the manager this morning 🙏 Our Meenakshi Temple visit the day before was fab with our local guide Daisy. Sadly no pics from inside but there was a full sized pool with a golden lotus. People milling around, lying prone asking for blessings, the sick being carried in on their pilgrimage, school kids doing homework on the stone floor. Beggars lining up for a bowl of rice. Our #southindiatour2020 group now fully aclimatised its uttapam for breakfast, thaali for lunch and the nearest local eatery for dinner. That's us on the road again. Destination Thekkady Periyar...

A hotel close to the lake but yet give you a calm atmosphere. it has good number of neatly maintained rooms and sufficient parking for the visitors. The rooms lack a fan and on slightly hotter days we do feel the need for one. The staff at the restaurant are warm and ready to help. The dinner and breakfast options are similar with slight modification and tased well. The hotel when we went was a little short staffed and this was evident in late cleaning of rooms.
This was not a major issues the hotel has a good collection of flowers and the garden is neatly managed . A camp fire was organised by the hotel itself .. thekids play area has some things to keep the little once occupied. ..I would recommend to stay here.

We a family of 4 stayed in JC Residency, Kodai from 26th Dec'23-29th Dec'23 (3 Nights). The property is in a decent location and offers High Quality Service. The rooms are very spacious with garden/ courtyard view, big beds, ample sitting area in the room, 24 hours hot water and electricity.
Restaurant is big. Dedicated In person restaurant crew during BK and Din. Each day the Bk and Din spread had variety of both north Indian and south Indian food. Hygienic food with no complain.
Property is neat, clean and well maintained. Well maintained gardens with seasonal blooms. At night it is well lit, provision for bon-fire is there. One can enjoy a nice stroll in the courtyard post dinner. Childen's room with indoor games and dedicated play area to keep them busy. Every morning house keeping is "On -Time" to clean your rooms, refill bislery drinking water and other tea/coffee pouches.
Our stay was really relaxed and enjoyable.

The rooms provided here pathetic and completely unmaintained. I booked the suite here through Agoda as I found very good reviews, but to my surprise neither the reviews i read nor the pics I saw were genuine or of latest condition of these rooms. We had 2 rooms booked (for my family and my friend family), both rooms were of same bad condition. Posting few pics for evidence. Also, there's a children's outdoor play area here, which is very small and when we went with kids, we saw broken liquor bottles all around which proves how much this hotel group values for the maintenance & cleanliness. Only one thing good here and we liked was the restaurant area and food (buffet) provided.

Most ridiculous place of all time! I had to walk in to book as I reached kodaikanal pretty late at night. Was greeted by a rude and disrespectful old man who raised his voice when I ask the type of rooms they offer. As I was too tired, I chose to stay nevertheless. I paid for the suite room and was not informed that there is no hot water for showering at night. No soaps or shampoo provided and when asked, they bought a sprite bottle with what they claim was soap inside. The bathroom was slippery that has caused me a bad fall. Bed sheets was not cleaned properly that caused rashes throughout my body. We ordered room service and food was ridiculously awful tasting. Their mint lime drink was more like toilet water, taste and unpleasant appeal. Most horrible experience for a ridiculous pricing of MRP 5600 for one night. If you wish to have a good experience at a beautiful place like kodaikanal, avoid this hell of a hotel!

It was a pleasure to stay at JC Residency hotel, an utterly charming property with cascades of colourful flowers adorning the property. One of the best hotels for sure at Kodai. The restaurant staff Mr. Murugan, Mr. Javed and Ms. Aida very courteous and attentive. Mr. Murugan deserves special mention for attending to our every culinary need, even going out of his way to give us a reminder call in the room that dinner is served. The hotel has a decent buffet spread and a la carte options. JC is conveniently situated close to major sightseeing locations.

We visited Kodaikanal as a family of 3. The property is located near a market area of the town on a busy road, well connected to the kodai lake and other tourist attractions. The property is beautifully maintained by the housekeeping staffs, it has a children's play area, ample place to sit and relax. The super deluxe room is spacious and well furnished. Restaurant serves yummy food...we tried south Indian-north Indian-chinese cuisines both veg and non-veg. The staffs are courteous and understand your needs...special mention needed of Mr. Murugan and Ms. Ida. However the property needs maintenance, we observed seepage in the ceiling leading to watery floor, due to incessant rain. Overall we had a pleasant experience.

Sangeetha and Aravindh - stay from June 16, 2022 to June 18, 2022. Very affordable stay in center of the city with all facilities. Staffs were friendly and food was very good. Hotel is fully secured with faculties to help us 24/7. Nova anna from travel desk has shown us the best of kodai and we loved travelling with him. He has shown us all the places we wanted to visit and also suggested best places to eat and what and all we can do and buy things. He explained us about allbthe places we were going throughout the trip. He also took us so many good pics which gave us the best memory of our trip. Throughout the trip, We never felt we are travelling with new person, we felt like travelling with out brother. Overall the stay was very good and I will definetely will visit again. I will also recommend all my friend to visit kodai and stay at jc residency especially for the best travel desk they have.

Positives : Neatly maintained and spacious rooms, hot water available 24/7 , Wifi works just fine, enough parking space inside the property, campfire with music arrangements made for evening, buffet available for breakfast and dinner with lots of options and the food also tastes good- special mention to Mr.Laxman whose hospitality needs to be called out, all staffs are polite and prompt, travel desk also available if anyone wants to hire vehicle for local sight seeing. For those who loves plants and flowers, they have maintained a good variety of them and are also selling plants. Have enough facilities to keep you engaged. All payment modes available.
Negative : The property is not located in a very scenic location. So do not expect any view from the property.

kids play area is good for engaging upto 2-3 hrs. staff at restaurant understands your need and prepares food, especially Ida, Murugan n Lakshman.
though a fixed radiation type room heater is available, you can ask for convective heater for better comfort
