Had the most wonderful time at Kodai Heaven. Best service ever! We got a knock on our door every night asking if we wanted to order anything straight to the room and food was promptly delivered. The restaurant is great and terraces and balconies are lovely places to hang out. Highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in Kodai.
Beautiful location.. great view.. close to dolphin nose tree we k point… good customised food. This place is ideal for friends get together only. A remote place in Vattakkanal in Kodaikanal which is also the trek point for dolphin nose. It overlooks the hills and the valley in a old style property with just basic amenities. The rooms are set over a small hillock and in different floors. Hence all rooms offer a very good view of the hill opposite. There are rooms with 2 to 8 beds drowning your requirement. There is a place for campfire and barbecue. There are small shops near by for buying basic stuff as well as a small eatery. But nothing else beyond that. And it’s also a good 20-30 minutes drive away from Kodaikanal town. Hence I recommend this place only for friends and strictly not for families. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room orders were delivered quickly. The customised menu was awesome (mutton Kotthu curry highly recommended).…
So this place is beautiful , has parking, etc The only thing is it’s very expensive for what they are giving They have a lot of hidden charges and will take a thousand from you for 2 hours bonfire No breakfast, no tea , no service Rather spending so much here where staff is not even caring for its guests, I think you can just go for a home stay in 1/5th of the cost
For Site seeing purpose only its good and stay place , fire camp This is the main strength. We stayed 3 nights. hospitality very very bad daily not cleaning room, not changed towel and soap . Its bad experience for us. Food cost too high... Food plates glass not cleaned properly Boz kodai haven in Forest 6kms away from city . Before going to this place talk to them what are the thing they will give what is ur expectation. Suggestions they need to improve cleaing the rooms , regular maintance and food quality and quantity. Some time giving small qty some time high... Taste also not same. Here we will not get Airtel vodafone jio bsnl tower .
For this place, I have mixed feelings. The view from this place was pretty awesome. It is in vattakanal, giving you the preety view of mountains and clear sky. But the rooms were untidy and in need of rework. However, the manager is a cool person.
We stayed for our honey moon & its the best ever hotel I have seen. Landscaping, garden, fruit trees, outside views.. All were so beautiful & will definitely recommend to friends. They have reused more than 3000 water bottles & used them to plant flowers in garden. All the landscaping, rooms designing & garden were made by the owner Mr.Moorthy, without any professional help from outside. Restaurant has a good shef who made taste dishes & sabarjill wine.
So, it was a 2 girls trip. We had decided to stay at a homestay in vattakanal based on our knowledge from the internet, but after reaching there and being shown 2/3 "homestays", which are mostly atop a hill, with dingy rooms, dirty bedsheets, shady location and next to no service or promise of electricity except a key to the room/house, we decided that Kodai Haven would be a decent stay. Upon reaching, we met a courteous receptionist who just wanted to really trick us into paying whatever maximum amount he could extort from us.He started with Rs. 2900 and settled for Rs.2000. Basically no standard pricing. When we went to check the room assigned to us, it was nothing more than a tin cabin, coloured in the most random depressing colours. The bed sheets were musty and stained, we didn't touch those(we had our own). The room had very dim lighting, and within 2 hours of checking in, one of the bulbs also stopped working. If all this wasn't bad enough, the basin in the toilets had an open pipe which basically drained on the bathroom floor(Horror Stories). Upon asking they said this is the plumbing system in all their rooms. The room walls are so paper thin, you can hear the person in the next room breathing (not even an exaggeration). The staff were sweet and receptive and offered us towels and hot water etc almost immediately after asking. The place also isn't very safe for girls, our stay was already spoilt with such poor conditions in the hotel and then there were 3 hooligans who were staying right below us who kept peeping upwards into our balcony each time we stepped out of our room for a view. Kept screaming random things from the rooms below, were noisy the entire time, kept catcalling up until the point we were actually leaving. The hotel is literally dead in the evenings and there is no bonfire/music/nothing at all happening. The wifi only works in their reception area. Go for the view if you must, it offers a breathtaking view of the hills, in the mornings and the night and the only thing Kodai Haven has invested in are their gardens, so maybe go for that. Rest, idk really.…
Absolutely adorable! We had wonderful 3 days at Kodai Haven with an amazing view in front of us (check out the upper terasse!). The rooms were tidy, clean and well maintained. Warm water is a plus. Biggest highlight was the lovely staff, the cook, the cleaner, hotel management and owner. We are looking forward to visiting again, since the place will undergo some changes towards a truly heavenly place in Vatta. Definately recommend!
the place is just amazing , as vatta is a village located above the clouds u do need to walk up some stairs before u get there but the munute u arrive u will see .. just amazing , the place has amazing plants and small gardens all around it , the rooms are just beautiful with paintings on the walls , in addition the crew is amazing they always smile and respectful to the tourists arriving , really good and nice tamil nadu people :) they also have a nice kitchen on the outside in which u can use whenever u wish to , thehy also have bon fire places and if u stay long enough ( around a week ) they make u a bon fire for free . highly recommended if u reach vatta .
What a great place. They have a variety of rooms, many with outstanding view. Rooms are very pleasant. Restaurant is very nice and they also have a place if you want to cook for yourself. Beautiful garden and very pleasant ambiance. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Seeing the sunrise from here is an amazing experience. We stayed for almost a week and enjoyed every moment. Michael
